Trump dictator narrative blows up after Trump announcement
During the campaign, Trump said he would “only” be a dictator for a day, but Trump was clearly making the comment in jest in regard to orders he said he was going to sign.
Well, an announcement was just made that will have the media comparing him to every dictator in the history of the world.
Dictator for a Day
Trump’s comments first took grip during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
Hannity asked Trump to quell the fears by Dems and the mainstream media that he would become a dictator if he won office again.
Trump responded, “Except for day one. I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill.”
Now, if you watched the interview, these two were clearly joking, but that is not how the media and Democrats took it, of course.
He’s a Dictator
To that point, Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN) pounced all over it, making an official statement on her site about Trump being a dictator.
In part, she wrote, “President Trump told the American people that he wanted to be a dictator on day one. Now in office, he and his administration are following through with illegal and unconstitutional actions that directly threaten Americans’ economic, personal, and national security.”
She concluded, “Every elected official has a duty to the American people to uphold and defend the Constitution. The President’s unilateral decision to withhold bipartisan funding for America’s priorities passed by Congress and signed into law is an attack on American families and the rule of law.”
While Joe Biden did not sign as many executive orders as Trump in his first 100 days, he had his fair share as well as circumventing the Supreme Court with his student loan forgiveness, yet Democrats applauded that.
Happy Birthday
All that panic from Democrats and the media is about to on steroids with the latest report about the possible parade.
Dictators are famous for their military parades, and that is what Trump is reportedly planning for his birthday.
DC Mayor Bowser started the rumors, stating, “I understand that I think it was Homeland Security; maybe the White House reached out to our special events task force, which is what most people wanting to do a parade do in the district.”
When the White House was asked for a comment, it responded, “No military parade has been scheduled.” It did not say that one will not be scheduled, however, so expect these rumors to fly and just watch the left lose its mind.
