Trump DOJ considering charges against rogue USIP staffers

Recently, DOGE staff tried to enter the U.S. Institute of Peace, but staffers were defiant, which eventually led to the issue being litigated.

Now, the Trump Department of Justice (DOJ) is considering charges against the staffers, some of whom refused to leave.

DOGE shows up

About a week ago, national headlines were made when DOGE was declined entry into USIP offices.

Local authorities were called, with former diplomat and President and CEO of USIP George Moose explaining, "D.C. police showed up at my office and said it is time for you to go."

He later added, "This building really was — it was built not just as a platform for the work that we do. It was built as a symbol of the aspiration of the American people to be peace builders in the world. That's why it is as beautiful as it is.”

Congress funds USIP, so Trump was very much within his rights to have DOGE check the books.

Judge sides with DOGE

The issue was litigated, but in a shock ruling, a Democrat-appointed judge sided with DOGE, refusing to block the agency from entering the building.

U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell did not really approve of the show of force, but she found nothing inappropriate about DOGE entering the building.

Howell, while siding with DOGE, also took his shots, stating, “I am very offended by how DOGE has operated at the institute and treated American citizens trying to do a job that they were statutorily tasked to do at the institute."

“But that concern about how this has gone down is not one that can sway me in my consideration of the factors for a [temporary restraining order], which is an emergency relief that is extraordinary.”

Exploring Charges

According to a recent report in the Daily Caller, the DOJ is now considering filing charges against the rogue former staffers of the USIP.

Anna Kelly, White House deputy press secretary, stated, "Eleven board members were lawfully removed, and remaining board members appointed Kenneth Jackson acting president. Rogue bureaucrats will not be allowed to hold agencies hostage. The Trump administration will enforce the President’s executive authority and ensure his agencies remain accountable to the American people.”

A DOJ official spoke with anonymity with the Daily Caller, said the DOJ is now looking at possible charges for destruction of property and creating fire hazards, among other charges.

I have to admit, I would love to see charges filed, as we have to get rid of these activists within the government who think they can run to the court every time they don’t get their way. It’s time to end this nonsense and make an example of someone.
