Trump fends off media attacks with highest approval rating to date

If there is one thing I have learned about today’s media, it is that if there is even a drop of blood in the water regarding Donald Trump, it will pounce.

So, after a new NBC News survey showed Trump tied with his highest approval rating, I did some digging, and you guys are going to laugh at what I have found.

Inaugural Hit Job

The attacks against Trump in terms of polling started on his very first day in office. Gallup released a poll titled “Trump's Inaugural Approval Rating Is Historically Low Again.”

Now, that is a pretty damning statement without the proper context, the most important of which is how the media and Democrats have painted Trump as a “threat to democracy” from the very outset.

The focus here should have been about Trump being elected to install a very clear agenda, then give him a little time to breathe before attacking his approval ratings. It also should have been openly compared to his previous administration, as well as Biden’s approval going out of office.

When we look at those numbers, Donald Trump is a +2% in approval from when he took office during his first term, and his 47% approval rating on inauguration day was +11.4% over Biden as he left office. I would have chosen a much more upbeat title had I been the one headlining that poll for Gallup.

Trump Underwater

On March 14, the media got what it wanted when, as expected, Trump’s approval rating took a small hit from the tariff war.

Again, this is happening because everyone votes with the economy, but they again left out some major context to the polling numbers.

For instance, even though Trump was underwater, his approval ratings were still above his previous ones, and on key issues, Americans were still clearly behind him.

At the heart of this is the overwhelming majority of Americans supporting what he has been doing at the border, yet virtually every major news outlet was giddy to report that his approval rating had slipped into the negative, albeit only by a few points.

Two-decade High

When the latest NBC News survey came out, Trump had tied his highest approval rating in the poll, sitting at 47%, but that was hardly the only good news for Trump.

The survey also found that 44% of Americans were happy with the direction of this country, compared to 54% who were not. On the surface, that is not encouraging, but then you realize this is the highest that number has been in about two decades, so Trump is clearly making a positive impression on the American people.

On the border, Trump had a 56% approval, and on government cuts, he was at 47% compared to a mere 29% that did not approve of the cuts.

So, again, the media is looking solely at the negatives, but they are not giving people the full context, which clearly shows the pendulum is swinging. Once Trump’s economic policies start to take grip, I expect those numbers to climb significantly for Trump because we all know most people vote with their wallet.
