Trump hits Schiff on alleged mortgage fraud
Donald Trump has been itching to get back at the Democrats who tried to bring him down since long before he took office.
I would say that he had two people in mind… New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA).
Ironically, the DOJ is going after both of them on very similar charges.
Taking out James
James was first on the list, and the case brought against James was eerily similar to the one brought against Trump by James.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) referred James to the DOJ for having allegedly falsified records on her properties.
James reportedly did this to get more favorable rates on her mortgages.
Again, ironically, this is what she charged that Trump did in his fraud case. James’s office stated that she is "focused every single day on protecting New Yorkers, especially as this administration weaponizes the federal government against the rule of law and the Constitution. She will not be intimidated by bullies -- no matter who they are."
Going after Schiff
Reports recently broke that Schiff was suspected of possible mortgage fraud.
The administration noted that the Fannie Mae Financial Crimes Division believed that Schiff “engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud.”
Trump posted to Truth Social, “Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA. I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook.”
He continued, “Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice.”
Schiff goes after Trump
I doubt anyone was surprised to see Schiff return fire on Trump after Trump made that announcement on Schiff.
He immediately started to criticize Trump for using the National Guard, stating, “Trump feeds on that chaos. So this was by his design. To see the Guard so misused in that way, the trust that Californians have for the Guard abused in that way was just awful."
The senator added, “Plus those Guard members that he took off their ordinary duties it meant at present, when we’re already dealing with fires breaking out in California, they were understaffed because we rely on our Guard in case of fire and other emergency. So I think they had to cut them loose sooner or later.”
Schiff has been on my hit list since he was caught spewing lies regarding the then-Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) FISA memo, saying Nunes was spewing all lies, when it was actually Schiff who was telling all the lies. I truly hope that Trump has this one right, as I would love to see Schiff get taken down and removed from Congress.
