Trump makes endorsement in WI Supreme Court race

Donald Trump has finally chimed in with an endorsement in the very critical Supreme Court race in Wisconsin.

As expected, Trump endorsed the conservative candidate, who, quite honestly, needs the boost.

Taking back the court

The 2023 Wisconsin State Supreme Court race was a true shock to the system for Republicans.

A conservative justice had stepped down, and the winner of that election would dictate control of the court, something the GOP had not relinquished in 15 years.

Milwaukee County Judge Janet Protasiewicz campaigned on fighting gerrymandering, and she won the election going away, dealing a critical blow to conservatives in the state.

Now, a liberal justice has stepped down, and the GOP has the opportunity to return the favor.

Early Voting Starts

The 2023 race had been the most expensive race the state had ever seen, but the 2025 race has already outpaced that election, with Elon Musk reportedly getting involved in this one.

Republican-backed Brad Schimel and Democratic-supported Susan Crawford are facing off, with early voting already underway, and the formal election day scheduled for April 1.

Schimel was trailing in early polling, but he was within striking distance of Crawford, down only about five points.

Keep in mind, however, that this is a true moderate state, so this election will not be an easy win, regardless of how much of a cash injection Schimel receives.

Trump makes the call

We all know that Trump does not like to risk his endorsement record, but he is doing just that after announcing his support for Schimel in this race.

Trump made his announcement this weekend on Truth Social, posting, "In the Great State of Wisconsin, a Radical Left Democrat, one who is insistent on bringing hardened CRIMINALS, that we removed to far away places, back into our Country, allowing men into women’s sports, Open Borders, and more, is running against a strong, Common Sense Republican, JUST CALL HIM BRAD, for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

That is not enough, however, as Trump and his surrogates need to get over to Wisconsin and have visible show of support for Schimel if they want this court back. They need to swarm this state for the next two weeks up to and including election day of they want to win this race.

The downside to not putting in the effort is that if Democrats win this race, they will have a death grip on the court, holding a two-seat advantage over conservatives, and it could take more than a decade to turn that around.
