Trump pushes back against Carlson claims

Tucker Carlson is someone who will say whatever it takes to make a buck, as the man has no allegiance to anyone or anything, including the conservative movement.  

He has fooled a lot of people for a long time, but his cover was just blown, and now it sounds like he created an enemy with the one man who could ruin his career... Donald Trump.  

Hate Him 

Carlson has always publicly acted like he likes Trump, but his private texts tell a much different story. 

While Carlson was telling his viewers that Trump was the man, he was privately counting down the days until Trump would be out of office and out of the headlines.  

Just days before Trump left office, Carlson had texted, "We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can't wait.” He later added, "I hate him passionately. ... I can't handle much more of this.” 

Yet, for some reason, as Trump was running for office in 2024, he and Carlson were seen cozying up at the track like they were best buds. The reason, at least in my eyes, is that Trump was good for Carlson’s business, so he would do whatever it took to get close to Trump.  

Complicit 

Carlson is now an independent journalist, but I think he has pretty much become an afterthought for most people.  

So, he did what he had to do, which was to make a sensationalist claim about Donald Trump.  

Carlson said Trump was “complicit” in Israel’s attack against Iran, adding, “What happens next will define Donald Trump’s presidency.” 

He has also insinuated that Trump is no longer “America first,” putting our interests aside for those of Israel, which is just ridiculous.  

I Decide 

Trump rejected Carlson’s premise, saying that since he coined the phrase, he is the one who dictates what is in the best interests of this country.  

Trump stated, “Well, considering that I’m the one that developed ‘America First,’ and considering that the term wasn’t used until I came along, I think I’m the one that decides that. 

“For those people who say they want peace—you can’t have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. So for all of those wonderful people who don’t want to do anything about Iran having a nuclear weapon—that’s not peace.” 

I am with Trump on this one, but just on the fact that we will never have a real peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. As far as what is best for America and putting America first, one man does not get to decide that. We the People decide what is best for this country, then we vote people into office to make it happen. We don’t have leaders in our government, Mr. Trump, we have representation.
