Trump reverses stance on Elon Musk
The last week has been filled with quite a bit of drama regarding Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Now, after Elon Musk extended an olive branch, several of them, actually, Trump seems ready to bury the hatchet.
Not Interested
When Musk turned on Trump, he did so like a nuclear missile hitting a country unexpectedly.
He said the spending bill was garbage, then attacked Trump directly, claiming that Trump should be impeached as well as being in the Epstein files.
Trump was reportedly livid after Musk's posts, and people in the room said he was steaming, which was made apparent when Trump addressed the fallout with the media.
Trump said that Musk had gone “crazy,” that he had lost it, as well as stating that he had “no interest” in mending the fence with Musk.
Too Far
I had predicted the falling out as soon as these two got together, but I never expected it to be as explosive as it was.
It took Musk only about two days to realize that maybe he took things a bit too far, and he was clearly looking to fix things with Trump. To that point, he posted on X, "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”
Trump and Musk’s bromance being over is one thing, but the GOP cannot afford to outright lose Musk.
If nothing else, they need his money to counter that of people like George Soros, who just pour hundreds of millions into elections every cycle. We need this guy on our side, so it was good to see Musk make the first move.
Let’s Work It Out
While Trump had stated that Musk was wearing thin on him and that he wanted Musk out, not to mention outright threatening Musk if he decided to support Democrats, Musk made the first move, and Trump seemed to appreciate that.
After Musk apologized, Trump stated, "Look, I have no hard feelings. I was really surprised that that happened.
”He went after a bill that’s phenomenal. He just — I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually."
If this were anyone else, Trump would likely have stayed at war with them, but Trump has to know how important Elon Musk is to the GOP right now. Musk was not wrong in saying he was instrumental in helping Trump win the election and the GOP keeping the House and taking back the Senate. Without Musk, I don’t know about the White House considering who the Dems put out there, but I have no doubt the Dems would control at least one chamber of Congress.
