Trump threatens to bomb Iran over nuclear program
The bad blood between Donald Trump and Iran goes back to his first administration, when Trump ended Obama’s nuclear deal because he said Iran had violated the agreement.
Now, Trump is threatening to bomb Iran if it does not end its nuclear program.
Trump abandons deal
Trump never hid the fact that he did not like the deal Obama made, which made national headlines when pallets of cash were filmed heading for the terrorist nation.
Trump canceled the deal during his first term, stating, “This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made."
“It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.”
Trump got hammered by the left for ending the deal, including Obama, who said this was “a losing choice between a nuclear-armed Iran or another war in the Middle East.”
Iran rejects negotiations
Joe Biden picked up where Obama left office when he took over as president in 2021, once again coddling Iran in the hopes of being its friend rather than treating the country like the terrorist state it is.
Biden tried to get a new deal in place, but he never managed to do that, while the Trump administration has tried to get a new deal in place that would block Iran from having a nuclear weapon, but Iran has brushed off its efforts.
Donald Trump sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, but it was not received well, only hardening the country’s stance against the United States.
Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated, “The Americans themselves know how vulnerable they are. If they violate Iran’s sovereignty, it will be like a spark in a gunpowder depot, setting the entire region ablaze. In such a scenario, their bases and their allies will not be safe.”
Trump responds
We all know that Trump does not respond well to threats, and his reaction to Iran was fairly predictable, threatening to bomb Iran if it does not immediately end its nuclear weapons program.
Trump stated, "If they don't make a deal, there will be bombing. But there's a chance that if they don't make a deal, that I will do secondary tariffs on them like I did four years ago."
Trump was referring to the tariffs he put in place that had Iran’s economy near collapse, which Biden lifted.
The amusing aspect of all this is that it is Iran talking about building trust, yet this is a nation that regularly finances terrorist attacks against the United States and its allies. There is no trust to build. I would support Trump bombing Iran or breaking its economy again. This is a nation that cannot be trusted, and it has proven it time and again, so do what needs to be done, Mr. President.
