Trump Vows to End Russia-Ukraine War as President Elect

Donald Trump has been making some bold promises to win this election, but the latest one is getting a lot of attention.

Trump has vowed that if elected, he could end the Ukraine-Russian war before he ever takes office.

Trump first stated this during the debate, and he doubled down on it while hosting a space on X this week.

It Will Be Over

Donald Trump and Putin appeared to get along rather well when Trump was in office in terms of understanding what lines could and could not be crossed.

I still believe there is no way Putin would have ever invaded Ukraine had Trump won office in 2020, but he didn’t, and here we are today.

This is an issue that has plagued the Biden administration as well as the Harris campaign, and many believe if that war is not over by election day, it could cost Harris the election.

Trump, however, says he can fix it before he even takes office, but that could be considered a violation of the Logan Act, which I will get to in a second.

During a recent spaces conversation hosted by Trump on X, he doubled down on his vow from the debate.

In part, Trump stated, “I want to get Russia to settle up with Ukraine and stop this — millions of people being killed, far greater than the number you read about.

“But I want to get that done before I even take office, I want to get that done as president-elect, because it has to be solved — too many people dying, too many cities are just in rubble right now, you look at the cultures just being destroyed. We’ve got to get that done, and I’ll get it done.”

In order for Trump to have such communications, he would have to get permission from the Biden administration.

Even as president-elect, it would be considered a violation of the Logan Act, which prevents private citizens from acting on behalf of the United States in diplomatic manners.

If you recall, we all wanted John Kerry prosecuted for violating this act during the 2020 cycle for his interactions with Iran.

And something tells me that Joe Biden will never give Trump that permission, just hoping that he engages with Russia and Ukraine so he can prosecuted before taking office.
