Ukraine flips the script on Russia with surprise attack
Throughout the war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia has more often than not been the aggressor.
Last week, Ukraine launched a massive surprise attack, which now has Russia making claims of terrorism against Ukraine.
Russian strike
Everything between Russia and Ukraine appeared headed in the right direction, especially after a massive prisoner exchange took place, making peace look imminent.
Instead, Russia launched a massive drone and missile strike, killing at least 12 Ukrainian soldiers and leaving more than five dozen injured.
The Ukrainian Ground Forces stated, “If it is established that the actions or inaction of officials led to the death or injury of servicemen, those responsible will be held strictly accountable.”
President Zelensky also addressed the attack, stating, “Of course, everyone in the world wants diplomacy to work and a real ceasefire to happen. Everyone wants Russia to stop playing with diplomacy and end the war. Everyone wants serious peace, and Russia must agree to this.”
Ukraine goes on the offensive
Zelensky had been dying to go on a massive offensive inside of Russia, and he just accomplished it.
Late Sunday, reports broke that Ukraine had carried out a massive drone strike inside Russia, which took out roughly a dozen Russian bomber jets and surveillance planes.
Zelensky called the attack “an absolutely brilliant result,” but Putin did not see it the same way, with the Russians daring to call it a “terrorist” strike.
According to Zelensky, the operation has been in the works for more than 18 months.
Nobody knew
Considering Ukraine gets just about all of its weapons from the United States, one would think that Zelensky would have made us aware of the strike before the launch, but that was not the case, according to reports.
While the White House has been mum on the attacks thus far, reports have surfaced that Ukraine kept the Turmp administration in the dark about the attack.
Sunday morning, Trump was playing golf with Bryson DeChambeau, and I would think that had he known about the strike, he would have likely been in DC to monitor the situation in real time.
Trump took ownership of this war by saying he would have a peace deal on day one, if not before he took office, but more recently, he has tried to distance himself from it, stating, “This isn’t my war. This is Biden’s war, Zelensky his war and Putin’s war. This isn’t Trump’s war.”
