UN admits Gaza aid being looted
The biggest complaint I hear from readers about aid being given to other nations is the fact that there is no accountability.
In the early days of the Ukraine war, we know Ukrainian officials were stealing, and they have even admitted as much.
The same was said about aid for Gaza, as many believed this was being stolen by Hamas, and we were right.
Real Starvation
Believe it or not, Trump is far more empathetic to the people of Gaza than I ever would have been.
As far as I am concerned, these people allowed Hamas to take over, so they are part of the problem, not the solution.
Trump has been the bigger man, saying that he sees “real starvation” in Gaza, and he wants to do something about it.
The president stated, "Some of those kids are — that's real starvation stuff. I see it, and you can't fake that. So we're going to be even more involved."
Taking Over
Now, even though I am as cold as I am on this subject, I don’t want to see kids suffering for the choice of their parents, so I would have no problem feeding these children, as long as we are assured the goods are getting to them.
To that point, a Trump official stated, “The starvation problem in Gaza is getting worse. Donald Trump does not like that. He does not want babies to starve. He wants mothers to be able to nurse their children. He’s becoming fixated on that.”
Trump has since expressed an interest in the United States taking over aid efforts to ensure the deliveries are going into the hands of the people who need them.
The problem, however, is that if Trump does that, it means boots on the ground. The only other alternative would be to put it into Israel’s hands.
We Were Right
Supplies should not be an issue, as there have been plenty of supplies delivered, yet people are still starving, and we all know why. Finally, the UN admitted the truth.
The Times of Israel just reported, “The United Nations Office for Project Services has published data showing that since the resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza on May 19 and up until August 5, a total of 2,604 aid trucks were collected by the UN after entering the Strip. Of those, 2,309 did not reach their intended destinations inside the enclave.
“According to the organization, this was due to the trucks being ‘intercepted either peacefully by hungry people or forcefully by armed actors during transit in Gaza.’ This accounts for 88% of all trucks.”
Think about that… 88% failed to reach their destination, and I can flat out tell you I am not buying the “peacefully by hungry people” narrative. Hamas is taking the trucks to feed their soldiers. We might as well flush all that money down the train, or just skip the middleman and send the care packages right to terrorists, because that is what is happening anyway. Sometimes, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, and that is likely what Trump is contemplating doing right now.
