Vance shuts down hecklers on immigration
One of the biggest reasons that Trump was elected to office was to lock down the borders.
Yet, even now, the far left continues to hold the line in favor of illegal immigration, to the point Vice President JD Vance was being heckled on this subject during a recent appearance, but he handled it like a pro.
Border Crossings Plunge
I cannot say enough how thrilled I am seeing the numbers plunge in regard to border crossings.
For Trump’s first full month in office, which was February, there were only 8,450 illegal border encounters, a number that is staggeringly low.
To put that into perspective, there were months during the Biden administration when that number of crossings occurred in a single day! If Trump is able to hold this number, he will have fewer crossings in a year than the Biden administration saw over a three-month period.
Not only that, but Trump border czar Tom Homan has been doing an exceptional job of rounding up the hardcore criminal element and sending them back, a project that will expand as he gets more money from Congress to include all illegal immigrants.
Vance Gets Heckled
On Monday, Vance gave a speech at the National League of Cities, where he was heckled by liberals who love seeing people come into this country illegally, but he handled it like a champ.
At one point, Vance shot back, “I see one of our nice representatives out here actually wants to actually, I guess, continue to flood the country with illegal immigrants, making your communities and citizens unaffordable.
“But ma’am, with all respect, one of the reasons why we’re doing what we’re doing is we want to make [the country] more affordable for Americans to live. That is one of the reasons why we’re doing what we’re doing.”
I have always been amazed how most people do not seem to grasp just how much money this costs us every year. I can attest to how much the immigration crisis has impacted housing in Texas, as rents in my area have gone by about 50% in just under two years.
The Numbers
Now, before I get into these numbers, I want everyone to realize there are studies on both sides of the aisle on this and the numbers are twisted in favor of the ideology that is putting out the report. So, I have sifted through them to offer the report which I feel is the closest to reality, which is the study on this matter by the Center for Immigration Studies.
Not only does illegal immigration impact housing prices, but I have long advocated that it drastically reduces wages. Now, Dems will make the argument that the jobs being taken by illegals are low-paying jobs that regular Americans do not want, but I have always countered that perhaps the wages would go up if we forced businesses to hire legal residents.
The report from CIS shows just how devastating illegal immigration is in terms of reducing wages, and I highly encourage you to read it in full when you have the chance (click here to read that report). This, as the report found, is particularly damaging in the hospitality industry, where wages are well behind the pace of inflation.
The trickle-down effect of illegal immigration is devastating, and people really need to wake up to just how much this impacts our economy. This is why I am hoping people give Trump a longer leash and allow his administration to get our economy turned around, as I believe, even with all the job cuts to government, in about two years, we will see the economy back to where it was before COVID hit.
