Vance touts Trump immigration numbers while visiting the border

We are less than two months into the Trump presidency, and I think we have already seen more of Vice President JD Vance than we did of Kamala Harris in four years, at least in terms of meaningful appearances.

After pushing President Zelensky over the edge at the White House, Vance just took a trip to the border, touting Trump’s record-low immigration numbers.

Taking Down Zelensky

Now, I have been very upfront about the fact that I don’t think the Zelensky debacle should have played out on live TV, but I was not quite as upset about it as most people.

I have stated many times, I think Zelensky needed to have some of that cockiness knocked off his chin, and I think Vance did that.

Vance was clearly upset about Zelensky “campaigning” with Kamala Harris in PA, and he called him out right to his face, but he did it far better than Harris ever would have been capable of doing.

Vance is clearly going to be present during this administration, setting himself up as the favorite in the 2028 election.

Taking a Victory Lap

Vance, as stated above, has been very active, and that included a trip to the border this week to tout the massive drop in crossings since Trump has been in office.

Vance was joined by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at Eagle Pass, TX, one of the busier border points.

I am not sure who came up with the line first, Trump or Vance, but they both used it. Vance during this trip, and Trump during his address to the joint session of Congress.

Vance stated, "It turns out we didn't need new laws. We didn't need fancy legislation. We just needed a new President of the United States. And thank God, that's exactly what we have.”

Crushing It

During Trump’s first full month in office, his numbers shattered those of the Biden administration.

Trump saw slightly more than 8,300 crossings, which is less than Biden sometimes saw in a day. That is more than a 90% reduction from the numbers we saw last February, and that was after Biden started to crack down on immigration.

Trump took a victory lap as well, posting, "This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER. In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants."

This is monstrous for Trump because it was a major agenda issue during the election for voters on both sides of the aisle, and Trump is clearly delivering on that promise. Hopefully, that will get him some leeway while he battles in these tariff wars to get the economy straightened out.
