Walz condemns MN murders as politically motivated attack
This week, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has called for a de-escalation in rhetoric after two Democrats were murdered and two injured in an attack.
While Walz has called these politically motivated attacks, there are more than a few, including me, who believe rhetoric such as his was the match that set this fire off.
Gestapo Talk
Democrats have gotten very comfortable calling Donald Trump “Hitler,” and that would include Walz, who took it a step further.
During a recent commencement, Walz was the guest speaker, where he called ICE agents a “modern-day Gestapo.”
The White House responded, “Governor Walz’s comments comparing ICE agents to the Gestapo is sickening. This type of rhetoric and demonization of ICE officers has led to our officers facing a 413% increase in assaults.
“While politicians like Walz fight to protect criminal illegal aliens, our ICE officers will continue putting their lives and safety on the line to arrest murderers, kidnappers, and pedophiles that were let into our country by the previous administration’s open border policies.”
Weak Man
When the news broke that a man had dressed like a police officer, then entered the home of a Minnesota politician, killing her and her husband, as well as shooting and injuring another Democrat and his wife, I immediately called out the Democrat rhetoric, and I was not alone.
The political affiliation of the shooter did not concern me, as I believe this Hitler and Gestapo talk was setting people off on both sides. These people are looking for a reason to snap, and Walz, in my opinion, contributed to that.
Former NFL star Jackie Brewer, who played for the Minnesota Vikings, agreed, stating, “We need to start calling this what it is. These people have lost their minds. I am heartbroken to see one of the most amazing states in America completely turned around under Gov. Tim Walz. Minnesota is confused.”
He later added, “Minnesota has become the capital of chaos in America. That’s not right. It’s not a reflection of the true people of Minnesota. There are a lot of good people there. But the liberal hub around Minneapolis and St. Paul has taken over, and it’s dangerous. Tim Walz is the leader of that. His attorney general, Keith Ellison, is right there with him.”
Dial It Down
Walz recently called for everyone to tone down the rhetoric, which is great, but the milk is already spilled here, and the carton is in Walz’s hands.
U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson has not yet stated a motive, saying, "Now, they were all elected officials. They were all Democrats. Beyond that, I think it's just way too speculative for anyone that has reviewed these materials to know and to say what was motivating him in terms of ideology or specific issues."
However, I don’t think I am jumping the gun by saying the alleged shooter clearly snapped here. Be it the comments by Walz or other Democrats, or the rhetoric from the right, likely a combination, we are walking into dangerous waters where Americans are literally starting to kill each other over politics.
I will debate with the best of them, but this country is getting whipped up into a frenzy by the very people elected to protect the country, its citizens, and represent We the People. Instead, they are playing us all like pawns in a game of power, literally using instances such as this to score political points. It’s horrifying, but sadly, I don’t see it stopping, and we only need look at how Dems turned up the rhetoric after Trump was shot after vowing to knock it off.
