WI AG wants to block Elon Musk’s $1m checks
As most of you are now aware, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court race is a high-stakes race that conservatives around the entire country are watching.
This week, voters in the state will head to the polls to decide whether liberals will have a two-seat advantage or if conservatives can retake the court. Elon Musk was hoping to influence the race, but the state attorney general is trying to block him.
Trump Endorses Schimel
Waukesha County Judge Brad Schimel is facing off against Dane County Judge Susan Crawford in the race, and Crawford has all the big money in the Democrat Party behind her.
My opinion… the GOP has not done nearly enough to support Schimel while we are only hours away from the polls being opened (early voting has already started).
Last week, Trump finally endorsed Schimel in the race, claiming that Crawford had been “handpicked” by the leftists “who are out to destroy your State, and our Country.”
He added, “And if she wins, the Movement to restore our Nation will bypass Wisconsin. All Voters who believe in Common Sense should GET OUT TO VOTE EARLY for Brad Schimel.”
Big Stakes
I am honestly stunned that the GOP has not done more to support Schimel, and that would include Donald Trump.
With so much at stake, I had expected Trump to hold a rally for Schimel, and I truly thought the most recognizable names in the GOP would be flocking to Wisconsin to support him, but we have not really seen that.
Likely at state is the majority of the court for at least a decade. If Schimel wins, conservatives take back the majority. If Crawford wins, liberals will expand their majority to two seats after having just regained it in 2023, following 15 years of conservative control.
As I had noted above, with everything that is at stake, I thought the GOP would be flocking there, but Elon Musk is really the only one who offered support, and that just took place last week, and his help may not even be legal.
Blocking Musk
Last week, Musk announced another $1 million giveaway to voters who would offer to be “spokesman” for an online petition fighting back against “activist” judges. Initially, Musk said the money would only be available to those who had voted in the WI Supreme Court election, but he later changed that to people who have signed the petition.
Attorney General Josh Kaul, a Democrat, filed a motion with the county court to block Musk from being able to write these checks.
Additionally, Crawford’s camp is now attacking Musk and Schimel, alleging that Musk is trying to buy votes, For instance, Crawford’s campaign spokesperson, Derrick Honeyman, stated, “Wisconsinites don’t want a billionaire like Musk telling them who to vote for, and, on Tuesday, voters should reject Musk’s lackey Brad Schimel.”
Musk has reportedly donated about $20 million into the race, but I think Schimel really could have use more visible support along with that money. And everyone knows how important this race is, so why did we not see that presence. If Schimel loses, there is nobody to blame but the GOP who did not rally for Schimel when they should have been flooding the state for the last month, as Schimel was behind in local polling.
