Wife Kicks Former NYPD Top Cop Out After Sex Scandal
The NYPD got turned on its head a few weeks ago when a report surfaced regarding excessive overtime for one of its administrative officers.
She resigned unexpectedly but then stated she had been sexually harassed by her superior, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey. Now, his wife has kicked him out of the house.
The Overtime
This all got started when it was reported that Lt. Quathisha Epps pulled down about $400,000, earning more than $200,000 in overtime.
The kicker here is that she is in an administrative position, so there was really no reason for her to accumulate that type of overtime.
When Epps retired just shy of her 20 years, costing herself considerable funds in her pension, it got everyone wondering exactly what happened.
Epps then blew the lid off the report when she stated that she was having sex with Maddrey for overtime pay.
Maddrey Resigns
When Epps made her allegations, all hell started to break loose, and it was only a matter of time before the hammer fell on Maddrey.
Last week, Maddrey resigned his position amid the sexual harassment allegations. This was yet another black mark on the administration of Mayor Eric Adams, who has also been indicted on bribery and campaign finance violations.
Epps’ attorney stated, "Systemic failures within the NYPD allowed Chief Maddrey's predatory behavior to continue unchecked, culminating in his promotion to the department's highest uniform position by Mayor Eric. Adams, despite a well-documented history of misconduct and abuse of power."
Adams’ office then responded, "We are deeply disturbed by these allegations and the NYPD is investigating this matter. Mayor Adams is working in close coordination with Police Commissioner [Jessica] Tisch as the NYPD conducts a separate department-wide review to ensure no high-ranking officers are using their power inappropriately. We will refrain from commenting further to avoid jeopardizing either investigation."
Get Out
Not only is Maddrey’s professional life a hot mess, but his personal life is suffering as well.
Reports surfaced this week that Maddrey’s wife has booted him out of the house after hearing of the allegations made against him.
The New York Post reported, “Recently ousted NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey was kicked out of his Queens home by his enraged wife following a Post exposé that linked him to a sleazy sex-for-OT scandal involving a high-ranking aide in the department.”
Adams has proven that just about everyone he is involved with has some dark side to them, yet Donald Trump says he is still considering a pardon for Adams on his charges if he winds up being convicted. I say again, this would be a mistake, and I hope Trump rethinks this.
