Zelensky makes his case to EU leaders after being booted from White House by Trump

You just knew that Trump was looking for a fight with Zelensky when Trump commented on Zelensky’s wardrobe for the meeting.

That was just the beginning, as Trump and Vance went toe-to-toe. Trump kicked Zelensky out and canceled the minerals deal that was supposed to be signed, which resulted in Zelensky heading to the EU to beg for help.

Trump, Vance, and Zelensky had been speaking to the media for about 30 minutes before all hell broke loose.

Of course, the media only showed the last 10 minutes, which is when everything went off the rails, but that was the juicy part, and as Trump said, it made for some great TV.

After berating Zelensky on live TV, and canceling the press conference for the minerals deal, Trump unloaded again on Truth Social, posting, “It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved.

“Because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

Zelensky Meets King Charles

Rather than repairing the damage with Trump, Zelensky ran across the pond to beg for help from members of the EU, including King Charles.

King Charles warmly greeted Zelensky, but the details of their private meeting were not disclosed.

The common narrative after his meetings was that most of the officials he spoke with warned Zelensky to fix the damage, including Italian PM Giorgio Meloni, who appears to have a very good working relationship with Trump.

You see, they all know that the United States has been paying for the lion’s share of Ukraine’s defense, so they want Zelensky to make nice so they don’t have to start writing checks.

We Will Lead the Way

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke after meeting with Zelensky, offering an olive branch to Trump in the process. Starmer noted that the Brits and French were more than happy to take the lead, but, as Trump stated, it was necessary to push for peace as soon as possible.

He stated, "We discussed a plan today to reach a peace that is tough and fair, that Ukraine will help shape, that's backed by strength, to stop Putin coming back for more.

"I'm working closely with other European leaders on this, and I'm clear that the U.K. is ready to put boots on the ground and planes in the air to support a deal, working together with our allies, because that is the only way that peace will last."

Trump has been complimentary of Starmer in the past, saying he earns his money as a tough negotiator, so I am sure his words will hit home. People may not like the way Trump delivered his message, but Trump was right, and besides, as I stated before, Zelensky needed to be knocked down a few rungs.
