McDonald’s Has No Record of Harris Employment
Kamala Harris has regularly touted her so-called days working for McDonald’s while a college student for spending money.
There is a problem, though… McDonald’s cannot verify her employment and Harris has yet to produce any real evidence she worked there.
No Records
An easy way to prove this would be for employment records to be produced, only that is not going to happen from McDonald’s. Either that, or Harris could produce a tax return citing McDonald’s as her employer, but that is not going to happen either, apparently.
The Wall Street Journal contacted the Golden Arches to confirm her story, and McDonald’s replied, “We’ve been proud to hear former president Trump’s love for McDonald’s and vice president Harris’ fond memories working under the Arches. We and our franchisees don’t have records for all positions dating back to the early 80s.”
Harris has had only one person corroborate her story, but that wound up being a campaign operative who has known Harris her whole life. I can tell you from my experience, having worked at McDonald’s in high school while in Philadelphia, I could rip off a couple of dozen names of people I worked with and whom I am still in contact with today because of those days at McDonald’s. Heck, I still have my name tag when I got promoted to crew chief. So why has Harris not named any of her other coworkers?
Trump Flips the Script
Donald Trump decided to flip the script and turn this into a campaign event. Trump “worked” at a local McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, cooking fries and working at other stations, including the drive-thru, where Trump handed off bags of food to supporters who flocked to the restaurant to see their guy.
Of course, the media went off, saying that Trump staged the event. The store was closed to regular traffic while Trump was there so the Secret Service could vet all the customers coming through. You know, because of those couple of pesky little assassination attempts against Trump.
The event may have been “staged,” but these were real people from the area coming to get McDonald’s from their president. CNN’s Brian Stelter did not see it that way, reporting on X, "For security reasons, Trump's McDonalds [sic] visit was carefully staged ahead of time, with drive-through [sic] customers selected and screened by Secret Service, etc.”
Vance Checks Everyone
The pushback on this was comical, especially after a report that Harris had emptied out a local diner during a campaign stop to fill it up with her people. When that report surfaced, the media never said a word. JD Vance did his best to pour water on the outrage, responding, “The fact that these people are accusing him of a ‘stage-managed’ thing… of course, the president has to have security because there have been two attempts on his life in the last eight weeks. He can't just walk into a McDonald's and sign a W-9 and actually go on the payroll. That's just not how this works, especially given the security threats on his life.
"But look, he was interacting with people. He was talking to the employees. He was giving people food, and he was just [doing] I think what he does best, which is just being among the people, talking to them about what they care about. He showed genuine interest in the employees and their lives and where they came from and what they were actually doing in their job, and that's something you can't stage, and you can't fake."
If Harris had worked at McDonald’s, she would be able to give far more details about her time there. I am not kidding when I tell you I can still remember the temperatures of the fryers and grills, cooking times, and the names of most of the people I ever worked with during those days. They were friendships that literally lasted a lifetime. So, when Harris only has one person to support her claim, and no other details, no, right now, I don’t believe she ever worked the fryer at Mickey D’s.
