REPORT: State Department Staffer Required Therapy After Harris Election Defeat
While there are clearly appointments made in every administration for the State Department, overall, this particular department should be non-partisan, looking out for the overall welfare of the country on the international stage.
So, why, then, are there reports that the State Department provided therapy to staffers after Harris lost the election?
The Election Debacle
There are still people who are sore about Kamala Harris being the Democrat nominee, and I am one of them.
Democrats took the unprecedented measure to remove a candidate after he was voted in simply because he was polling badly. They replaced Biden with Harris within days of Joe stepping down without a single American voting for her in a primary race.
While Harris had an initial bump, Americans quickly remembered why they hated her so much during the 2020 primary race, and her entire campaign collapsed despite raising more than $1.6 billion across all platforms.
The result… Donald Trump had the most convincing GOP win with both an electoral landslide and popular vote win, the first time in decades a Republican has been able to boast that.
Overly Confident
According to reports, the initial plan was not to hand the nomination to Harris but to have a brief open period, possibly a debate, before deciding on the candidate.
Joe Biden torched that plan, however, when he immediately endorsed Harris. His electors fell in line, and Harris received the nomination within 48 hours of Biden dropping out.
While fingers are pointing everywhere right now, it all really comes down to a flawed candidate, with some staffers finally admitting that. One staffer admitted they were just “arrogant” about the campaign right from the start.
The staffer added, “I’ve worked on five presidential campaigns. I knew this would be hard. Others acted like they knew they were going to win.”
The Meltdown
After the election, reports surfaced that the State Department was providing therapy for staffers who were devasted by the Harris loss, which has created some serious concern among Republicans.
Rep. Darrell Isa (R-CA) stated, "I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated by the normal functioning of American democracy through the provision of government-funded mental health counseling because Kamala Harris was not elected President of the United States.”
He concluded, “The mental health of our foreign service personnel is important, but The Department has no obligation to indulge and promote the leftist political predilections of its employees and soothe their frayed nerves because of the good-faith votes of – and at the personal expense of – the American taxpayers.”
This is yet another black eye for a State Department that has seen more than its fair share since Biden took over. Perhaps this is why the United States is being mocked on the international stage as well as our enemies and adversaries taking full advantage while Biden is still in office.
