Fox News Anchor Neil Cavuto Leaving Fox News

A man who has worked at Fox for nearly three decades is about to move on.

Neil Cavuto, a staple at Fox News for decades, is calling it quits.

I know some people don’t like Cavuto, but I have always appreciated his honesty and fearlessness in calling out anyone at any time.

For example, when Barack Obama was whining about Fox News and blaming Hillary Clinton’s loss on everything but her policies, Cavuto shot back, “To this day, he's convinced it's not anything he did. It's anything and everything else. Mister President, take it from someone who had his chest ripped out...its time you figured this out.

“Fox News didn't create this populist wave. Your policies did. It wasn't us playing in bars that doomed you...”

Cavuto Stepping Down

On Thursday, Cavuto appeared on Fox News for the final time. Friday will be the first time in 28 years that Cavuto will not be on the roster.

After it was announced that he would be moving on, Fox News stated, “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism, and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media.

“His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

For the time being, the time slot will see rotating anchors until Fox News reworks its lineup to accommodate for his departure.

Trump Reacts

After Cavuto announced that he was leaving, Donald Trump took a victory lap, as he has never really liked Cavuto, which I will get into in a second.

Trump posted, “GOOD NEWS FOR AMERICA! Neil Cavuto, the Lowest Rated Anchor on Fox, by far, is leaving - Should have happened a long time ago!”

As I said above, Cavuto had no problem calling anyone out, and he did that to Trump very early in his first term. Trump had misquoted some Obama-era stats in regard to the economy, and Cavuto corrected his numbers.

Since then, he has been a marked man, but I appreciate the honesty. He was far from my favorite at Fox News, but I believe Cavuto had integrity, and that is all we can ask from the media these days.
