Governor Murphy staff trying to walk back claim about migrant

Over the weekend, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) made it sound like he was housing an illegal immigrant at his New Jersey home in response to Trump’s immigration order.

Murphy’s staff is now trying to put out the fire, claiming that nothing of the sort is happening and that Murphy’s comments were taken out of context.

Housing an Illegal

After Trump issued his immigration order to round up illegals and send them back, Murphy decided to grab some headlines. He more or less challenged ICE to come to his home and arrest a woman that was allegedly staying with his family.

He stated, “Tammy [Murphy] and I were talking about – I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to. And we said, you know what? Let’s have her live at our house above our garage. And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her.”

Now, Trump has never said anything about going after legal immigrants, so there can be only one conclusion here… Murphy is housing an illegal immigrant.

To be clear… if Murphy is harboring an illegal immigrant at his home, and he knows the woman is not properly documented, he could be arrested. After all, he just told the entire country he knows her status. The question is if this was a ploy to get Trump to raid his home or not.

Walk It Back

The internet just about broke with people calling for Murphy’s home to be immediately raided by ICE after openly declaring he was harboring an illegal.

His office then stated that his words had been “misinterpreted,” and that “No one’s ever lived in the home” under those conditions.

Well, you read the quote from Murphy, so how exactly where his words misinterpreted? It seems pretty clear to me that he was harboring an illegal and daring ICE to raid his home to arrest her.

This is the problem… politicians make a statement like that to get people riled up, but when it backfires, they want to act like we were the ones who heard it wrong and are twisting his words.

The Rhetoric

That was far from the only nonsense Murphy spewed during his little rant, again likening this administration to the Nazi’s, daring people to rise up and fight back.

To that point, the New Jersey governor stated, “The Germans in the ’20s and ’30s got tired, they got sick of fighting, and look at the price we paid. We cannot roll over, we cannot stop fighting. We need an intensity.”

Dems, who got clocked in the 2024 election, clearly do not realize this Nazi nonsense is no longer playing with the American people, but they just won’t stop.

Even this week, Democrats were rallying in DC, calling Musk a Nazi and calling for an uprising in the streets. But when it happens, let see if the media treats that any differently than they did the January 6 riot.
