MSNBC Host Lawrence O’Donnell tapping out over Trump presidency
The liberal mainstream media continues to double down on its ridiculous stance that Donald Trump is personally stressing them all out.
To that point, one of the puppets who read the news before the lens, Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC, announced that he is taking a week off because he is exhausted from the Trump presidency.
It’s Just a Vacation
The narcissism in this statement is comical, as O’Donnell needs to take what was probably a scheduled vacation to turn it into a recovery period from TDS.
O’Donnell broke the news with Rachel Maddow, another drama queen, stating, "I know you've pledged to cover and be here for the first hundred days of the Trump presidency. I hope you noticed that I did not make that same pledge.
"This is day 52. I thought it was day 92. It turns out it's day 52, Rachel, and I’m exhausted at day 52, and so I’m going to take next week off. And I’m telling you that now because I know you don’t like it when I just drift away. I’m just taking next week off, then I can come back and go with you all the way to the hundred days.”
Considering how bad the ratings for MSNBC are right now, I don’t think anyone will miss him.
The Ratings Drop
What is shocking to me is that news producers are allowing this nonsense to continue on air when you can see the American people are no longer buying this act.
As an example, Rachel Maddow, who had the most successful show on the network, has lost about 25% of her viewers since Trump took office.
She was at about 2.3 million viewers heading into the election, and the most recent ratings reports have her at 1.8 million.
In the most sought-after demographic, the 25-54 viewer, which drives those advertising dollars, she has dropped nearly 30% of her viewership. Rachel, people are not buying your nonsense anymore!
All Theater
Democrats have themselves to blame for all of this, as they proved this was all nothing but an act during the election.
Joe Biden stood on the steps of the White House and literally told Trump, “Welcome Home!” when he arrived. Now, if I were president and I deemed the incoming administration to be a true threat, I surely would not be there greeting him with open arms.
Dems seemed to give up in this race, something that was noted by New York Times columnist Ezra Klein, who, at the time, wrote, “If the fate of American democracy is hinging on this election — as Democrats are always telling me it is and as I think there is a chance that it is — then you should do everything you can to win it.”
So, like I said, it was all a show, as Dems were rudderless during the election campaign, and they remain disjointed and rudderless today. And as long as the do that, they are giving Trump a much larger leash to accomplish his goals than I ever could have imagined. So, keep it up Dems because you are just buying this administration some much-needed time to get the job done.
