Trump dismantles Voice of America for being propaganda

How many times have I accused the mainstream media of being state-run media?

Well, Trump appears to be thinking along the same lines, having recently ordered a wrecking ball to Voice of America, which is funded with our tax dollars.

MSNBC caught

Networks are supposed to report the news, not push one candidate or another on their platforms.

During the 2024 election cycle, MSNBC got caught with its hand in the cookie jar, so to speak, admitting that it was forcing the Harris Campaign on its viewers.

Basel Hamdan, a writer and producer for the MSNBC show “Ayman,” was caught on a hidden camera giving up the secret tapes in regard to how the network was doing this.

At one point in the video, Hamdan states, "The type of people who work in Democratic politics and in the campaign are often the same type of people who appear on air at MSNBC."

“It reinforces the point I'm making: this news network is indistinguishable from the party.”

Media pushing Democrat talking points

I am sure most of you have seen the videos of multiple news outlets all using the same basic script, which I firmly believe is provided to them by the Democrat Party.

There was yet another example of this when Republicans were attacking Kamala Harris for dropping the ball at the border. Harris and the White House pushed the narrative that Harris was only sent to check the “root causes,” not to actually address illegal immigration…

Mind you, when Joe Biden first discussed this, he basically stated that the border was going to be Kamala’s show.

All she wound up doing, however, was rebooting the very same program that Obama assigned to Joe Biden when he was vice president, which was to more or less pour money down the drain to make it look like the administration was doing something.

Trump dismantles VOA

This led to Trump deciding to shred the funding for Voice of America (VOA), which he called propaganda for the Democrat Party.

Trump’s order stated, "The non-statutory components and functions of the following governmental entities shall be eliminated to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law, and such entities shall reduce the performance of their statutory functions and associated personnel to the minimum presence and function required by law.”

A White House official added, "Voice of America has been out of step with America for years. It serves as the Voice for Radical America and has pushed divisive propaganda for years now.”

For those thinking that Trump is overstepping his bounds here, I want to leave you with the words of a former VOA staffer, who penned an op-ed in the Washington Times, writing, "I have monitored the agency’s bureaucracy along with many of its reporters and concluded that it has essentially become a hubris-filled rogue operation often reflecting a leftist bias aligned with partisan national media. It has sought to avoid accountability for violations of journalistic standards and mismanagement." Sounds to me like Trump got it right.
