Noem vows to root out swatters and hold them accountable

Swatting is once again top of mind, as MAGA influencers are reporting being woken up in the middle of the night by SWAT teams.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has now declared war on the culprits, vowing to hunt them down and hold them accountable for their actions.

This practice of swatting goes back more than a decade, as the FBI posted about this new “phenomenon” back in 2008.

In part, the announcement stated, “Today, there’s a new, much more serious twist on this old crime. It’s called ‘swatting,’ and it involves calling 9-1-1 and faking an emergency that draws a response from law enforcement—usually a SWAT team.

“Needless to say, these calls are dangerous to first responders and to the victims. The callers often tell tales of hostages about to be executed or bombs about to go off. The community is placed in danger as responders rush to the scene, taking them away from real emergencies. And the officers are placed in danger as unsuspecting residents may try to defend themselves.”

This died out over the years but started to show up again during Trump’s first term, then picked up again during the mid-term elections, with many MAGA Republicans being victimized, and it is happening again now to MAGA influencers.

Targeting MAGA

Over the last few weeks, MAGA influencers have reported that they have been “Swatted” at their homes.

Gunther Eagleman, radio show host Joe Pagliarulo, and Infowars' Chase Geiser all claimed to have been targeted, which drew an announcement by FBI Director Kash Patel that all of these incidents would be investigated.

Pagliarulo has video evidence of his call, with law enforcement showing up at his door on March 12 due to a fake report.

This is dangerous on so many levels. What if someone wakes up in a panic and answers the door with a gun in hand? But something tells me that is exactly what these pranksters are hoping happens.

Noem Will Hunt Them Down

This is something that must be stopped, so Noem is joining Patel in his quest to find out who is making all these prank calls.

She stated, "Under President Trump’s leadership, we will not sit idly by as conservative new[s] media and their families are being targeted by false swatting.”

Noem added that the DHS has the ability to track locations and phone numbers, adding, "We will use it to hunt these cowards down. This is an attack on our law enforcement and innocent families and we will prosecute it as such."

This is a very dangerous game being played, but the left seems to be getting more and more violent, so we should not really be surprised. Look at late-night host Jimmy Kimmel sarcastically decrying violence against Tesla owners while Democrats laud the stock crashing and laugh over cars being vandalized. As I have stated many times, that party thrives on chaos, and that is what they are looking to create here.
