POLL: Americans say ‘NO’ on key Democrat issue

For some reason, Democrats have chosen to die on a hill that the American people have clearly ruled against.

The latest blow to the party comes in the form of a poll, where Americans have overwhelmingly stated they do not support taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries.

Biden order out of touch

When Biden was in office, two of the bigger issues for his administration were climate change and transgender care.

As red states were blocking transgender care for children, in June 2022, Biden signed an executive order protecting that care.

As Biden signed the order, he stated, “My message to all the young people: Just be you. You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You do belong.”

At the time, the White House claimed there were more than 300 anti-LGBTQ+ bills floating around in state legislatures, but that is a twisting of the facts. The majority of these bills were to protect young children from gender-affirming care, as well as ensuring parents were in the know if their child had spoken to school officials about a preferred gender identity other than their birth gender.

Harris and prisoner care

One of the biggest attack ads taken out by the Trump campaign and supporting PACs during the election was Harris’ position on providing transgender surgeries for inmates.

The ad claimed, “Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners.” Then the ad cut to a Harris speech, where she stated, “Every transgender inmate in the prison system would have access.”

This came up when Bret Baier interviewed Harris on Fox News. When he asked her about the stance, she responded, “I will follow the law. And it’s a law that Donald Trump actually followed."

“You’re probably familiar with now (sic). It’s a public report that under Donald Trump’s administration, these surgeries were available on a medical necessity basis, to people in the federal prison system.”

Voters Have Spoken

A recent survey by American Principles Project (APP) dropped a bombshell on Democrats in terms of support, even among their voters, regarding taxpayer-funded transition care.

Dems may be shocked to know that 43% of the people who voted for Harris do not support this position. And nationwide, more than 65% are against taxpayer funds being used for these surgeries and care.

Terry Schilling, APP executive director, explained, "We wanted to help educate Americans, but mostly legislators, about where Americans or how Americans feel about funding for gender identity programs, specifically in healthcare services, especially in light of Congress deliberating on spending and doing the reconciliation bills and all of that. We want to make sure that they knew just how unpopular these programs are to fund by tax dollars."

Most people do not care what adults do, so this is all about protecting children from making a horrendous mistake, as well as making sure taxpayer money is not funding these surgeries, which are elective procedures. If Dems don’t bend, the GOP will use this like Dems use abortion, because it was clearly an issue that hit home with voters in 2024.
