David Hogg creating problems for Democrats

When the DNC landed David Hogg, it was considered a bit of a coup for the party.  

Now, Hogg is the party’s worst nightmare, as he is openly trying to replace longtime incumbents.  

Hogg Wins 

I have to be honest, I never thought Hogg had a chance at winning a post in the DNC because it is such an old boys club.  

Hogg, who was only 24, won the election for vice chair of the DNC, shocking everyone.  

He was quick to announce his intended changes, stating, “We need to build a Democratic Party that is authentic, relatable, earns people’s trust, and wins again — and that stops apologizing for being who we are.” 

Failed presidential candidate Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was ecstatic at the time, stating, “From taking on the gun lobby to mobilizing millions of young people nationwide, he knows how to build movements that win.” 

Hogg Group Announces Initiative 

Hogg, now 25, is following up on his promise for change, with his PAC announcing a massive $20 million initiative to primary incumbents who are not delivering, but continue to win elections.  

He stated, "The first most important thing here is to understand it isn't necessarily just out with the old and in with the new. I would say it's out with the ineffective and in with the effective. That is what we are doing here. 

"Any person that has eyes can see that we are 27% approval with our base and we need dramatic change." 

He has not hidden his disdain for the fossils in office that are just taking up space, stating, "While [President Donald] Trump creates new existential crises every day, too many elected leaders in the Democratic Party are either unwilling or unable to meet the moment.” 

Carville Calls Out Hogg 

While I am clearly not a Democrat, I do respect what Hogg is doing. He is holding people accountable. But to show you how corrupt the DNC is, people are not upset about politicians not delivering; they are upset that Hogg wants to have them removed from office.  

To that point, Carville stated, “Wait a minute, let’s get this straight. He is the vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee and he is talking about raising $20 million to primary other Democrats. 

“Well, when I look at the DNC, ideally it should be an organization that’s trying to beat Republicans, not other Democrats … when you’re talking about using the power of the DNC, whatever power it has — it’s not very much — but you’re using that, and we’re paying — Democratic donors are paying — David Hogg’s salary. They’re paying David Hogg’s staff.” 

He concluded, “And he wants to run against other Democrats. Well, that’s America. Run against who the fuck you want to. But don’t — resign your position. Have guts, man. Have guts. Stand your ground. And I don’t think that’s part of the Democratic coalition. I don’t think they’re redeemable. I don’t think they want to be redeemed.”
