Scandal breaks involving former Trump impeachment witness
A juicy little scandal just broke that could be a problem for one of Donald Trump’s biggest enemies.
There is a little something shady going on between retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother, Eugene, that just might get the attention of the DOJ.
Vindman Testifies
If you recall, Vindman was the officer who allegedly heard Donald Trump’s call when he allegedly asked Ukraine for a “favor” that would help Trump in the 2020 election against Joe Biden.
Vindman became a whistleblower for Democrats during the impeachment.
Democrats treated Vindman like a rock star, as he was clearly the Dems' key witness in their effort to take down Trump, but his story became quite turbulent after that testimony was given.
He has since written a book, which is where the scandal comes in.
You’re Fired
After the impeachment hearings were over, Donald Trump fired Vindman from his post.
In responding to questions why he fired Vindman, Trump responded, "Actually, I don't know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don't believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my ‘perfect’ calls incorrectly, &. was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgement, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information. In other words, 'OUT.'"
David Pressman, Lt Col Vindman's counsel, responded, "There is no question in the mind of any American why this man's job is over, why this country now has one less soldier serving it at the White House.
"The most powerful man in the world - buoyed by the silent, the pliable, and the complicit - has decided to exact revenge."
The Scandal
Vindman has been writing books, while his brother
decided to cash in on the family name and run for office, which he won, now representing VA-7 in Congress.
As it turns out, Rep. Vindman spent nearly $39,000 at the bookstore where his brother was holding an event, calling it a “fundraising expense.”
Books & Books confirmed that Alexander Vindman had signings at the store, the same store where the check from Rep. Vindman was sent. The employee further stated that Rep. Vindman had asked what the store would say if reporters started to sniff around the big payment to the store from his campaign.
National Republican Congressional Committee spokesperson Maureen O’Toole responded to the report, stating, “Eugene Vindman’s hypocrisy is rich. Vindman is in Congress to advance his own out-of-touch agenda and, apparently, bail out his family’s abysmal literary endeavors. Virginians will kick this lying loser to the curb next November.” We can only hope she is correct.
