Is AOC a serious threat in 2028?

When it was first mentioned that AOC would be a possible presidential candidate in 2028, most people laughed.

However, it now appears as though AOC is reading her headlines and could make a run.

Progressivism in America

To this point, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has been the progressive leader on the left side of the aisle.

Sanders has made it clear that he is not interested in running for president again, which would make AOC his heir apparent, as the two have regularly supported each other on the campaign trail.

AOC has started to offer hints that she may be considering a run, with someone close to her office stating, “The only way she ends up running is if things continue the way they’re going, where it’s just going down this dark path and no one really steps up.

“And she kind of gets pressured into it, like she just feels it’s her moral obligation to do it.”

AOC ‘We are One’ Campaign launches

AOC has preached about battling conservatives her entire career, but she is now softening that tone, recently taking a new stance.

In a recent video, AOC stated, "Don't let them trick us into thinking we are enemies. Don't let them trick us into thinking we can be separated into rural and urban, Black and white and Latina. We are one.”

That is rather ironic when you consider the rhetoric that has come out of her mouth recently.

This, of course, would include calling every member of the Donald Trump administration corrupt, which does not sound very unifying, if you ask me.

Don’t Dismiss AOC

AOC can raise money, and younger voters love her. She has a personality that lures people in, and she is very popular on social media, all the makings of a successful candidate these days.

To that point, Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is warning people not to brush her off so easily.

She stated, “She’s going to run and her message of economic populism is more powerful than people are giving her credit for.”

That message could hit home even more if Trump does not end this tariff war and get the economy straightened out. We all know people vote with their bank accounts, and right now, most Americans are reeling, so, like McCain said, don’t just brush this off because if Trump’s economy continues to struggle, AOC would be a real threat in a party that is dying for new blood and new leadership.
