Some Democrats on board with Trump agenda

There is a little something interesting going on in Congress, and Speaker Johnson (R-LA) and Donald Trump really need to take advantage of it.

There are a limited number of Democrats who are backing different aspects of Trump’s agenda, and this could be helpful in turning some of those executive orders that have been challenged into legislation.

Wrong Battle

Let’s start with Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), who believes his party is making a mistake by standing behind the alleged MS-13 gang member whom Trump deported to El Salvador.

Cuellar stated, "This is not the right issue to talk about due process. This is not the right case. This is not the right person to be saying that we need to bring him back to the United States.”

He later continued, "Democrats should not take this issue. When you look at immigration, is this the immigration case you want to take to fight on? In my opinion, absolutely no."

Yes, everyone in this country, illegal or not, is entitled to due process, but Cuellar’s point is well taken. If the allegations made by the Trump administration against him are true, this is not the guy whose picture you want next to yours in a campaign ad.

Fetterman Tells Trump to ‘Strike and Destroy’ Iran’s Nuclear Facilities

If you can believe it, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has been one of the voices of reason in the Democratic Party during this administration.

While most of the party is coddling up to Iran, Fetterman would like to see the country wiped off the map, apparently.

Regarding Iran’s possible nuclear plans, Fetterman stated, “You’re never going to be able to negotiate with that kind of regime that has been destabilizing the region for decades already, and now we have an incredible window, I believe, to do that, to strike and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities.”

Fetterman later offered his advice for negotiations, stating, “The negotiations should be comprised of 30,000-pound bombs,” and I could not agree more.

Arizona Democrat Applauds Trump Policy

Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is also on board with another Trump proposal, that being using some federal lands to build affordable housing.

HUD Secretary Scott Turner and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum wrote, “Working together, our agencies can take inventory of underused federal properties, transfer or lease them to states or localities to address housing needs, and support the infrastructure required to make development viable—all while ensuring affordability remains at the core of the mission.”

Gallego, on the plan, recommended that the administration have a “balanced approach to land development that prioritizes environmental stewardship, respects tribal sovereignty and involves meaningful engagement with local, state and tribal communities to ensure housing developments meet their specific needs.”

The bottom line here is that this means Trump can negotiate with all of these people to give them some sort of concession that would, ideally, allow Trump to ram through legislation that the majority of American people would back, such as immigration laws or Voter ID. Yet, he continues to legislate with executive orders that get challenged and struck down in court.
