WHCA dinner offers shocking admission by journalist

The press prom, known as the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner, has come and gone.

This time around, the night was actually interesting, as one member of the media decided to call out his fellow journalists.

The start of the evening

White House Correspondents' Association President Eugene Daniels started off the festivities with a speech of his own.

He stated, "I know this has been an extremely difficult year for all of you. It's been difficult for this association."

"We've been tested, attacked, but every single day our members get up, they run to the White House, plane, train, automobile with one mission, holding the powerful accountable," he continued.

He later added, "This dinner is going to feel a little different than usual. There's no president, there's no comedian."

Going on the attack

The next part of Daniels' speech was a complete and utter joke.

He stated, "We care deeply about accuracy and take seriously the heavy responsibility of being stewards of the public’s trust."

"What we are not is the opposition. What we are not is the enemy of the people. And what we are not is the enemy of the state," he claimed.

I say it was a joke because he says they care about accuracy, yet the media missed two of the biggest stories of the news cycle because they chose not to investigate them or report on them. That is why nobody trusts them. They also tend to cherry-pick quotes to push a narrative rather than report the full story, which is why today’s mainstream media is a complete and utter joke.

Calling them out

Journalist Alex Thompson from Axios dropped a bomb on the room for not reporting on Joe Biden’s mental decline.

He stated, "Being truth tellers also means telling the truth about ourselves. We, myself included, missed a lot of this story. President Biden's decline and its cover-up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House, regardless of party, is capable of deception."

That, again, is a complete and utter joke because they did not “miss” anything; they specifically chose to help cover it up and not report on it at all. They were part of the problem who refused to see what was right in front of their eyes.

Now, Thompson has partnered with CNN’s Jake Tapper to write a book about Biden’s mental decline, as they are now acting like heroes while being completely complicit in the cover-up when it was taking place. No, this was just Thompson laying the groundwork so he could sell more books with Tapper when they both should have been reporting on it in real time.
