Clooney’s pick bows out of presidential race
All of a sudden, actor George Clooney is trying to become the kingmaker of the Democratic Party.
He called for Biden to step down, he called out the party for not having a primary afterward, and he made his pick for 2028, but he will be very upset that his pick has just bowed out of consideration.
Should Have Been a Primary
When Joe Biden stepped down in the election, he immediately endorsed Kamala Harris, effectively ending the race to see who would replace him.
To me, this was a blatant violation of the Constitution and should have been challenged by the Republican Party.
Clooney called out the party for conducting its business like this, effectively removing any challenge to Harris in the race.
He stated, “How they were running was that it was a failed administration. You can’t run against yourself, right? And that’s why that was a difficult campaign. It’s hard to run against yourself and say, ‘Well, I disagree with all this.’”
Clooney Reveals His Choice
Clooney recently tried to put his thumb on the scale to tilt the 2028 race, saying that there was one person who he felt had “levitated” above the rest of the field.
The actor stated, “Who I think is levitating above that is Wes Moore,” the Democratic Governor of Maryland.
He continued, “I think he is a guy that has handled this tragedy in Baltimore beautifully. He does two tours of duty in Afghanistan — active duty. He speaks beautifully. He’s smart. He ran a hedge fund — the Robin Hood Foundation. He’s a proper leader.
“I like him a lot. I think he could be someone we could all join in behind.”
Not Interested
With Clooney’s backing comes some big donor dollars and a lot of support, but Moore has decided the White House is not for him.
He stated, “I am not running. I am really excited about the work that’s happening right now in the state of Maryland.”
Clooney, by the way, is wrong because Maryland’s AAA bond rating is now at risk having been downgraded from “stable” to “negative,” which drew the ire of the state’s previous governor, Larry Hogan, a Republican, who stated, “For the first time ever, Maryland is at risk of losing its AAA bond rating. This isn’t just a warning. It’s a sign that years of progress are being undone.”
And that, my friends, is why people should not listen to actors. They live in a fantasy world and are stuck in an ideology rather than the truth and what people are actually doing. Moore, thus far, has been a disaster, but he checks the right boxes, so people like Clooney and shows like “The View” will try to push him as a savior.
