Fetterman under attack by fellow Democrats, including his wife
It is rather ironic that Democrats fought tooth and nail to have Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) elected, and now they are trying to take him out.
To that point, even his wife is reportedly working against him, all claiming that Fetterman’s mental health is creating growing concerns about his ability to do his job as a United States Senator for the state of Pennsylvania.
Aide Comes Forward
For the record, I thought Fetterman should have been replaced after his stroke so that he could concentrate on his recovery, not running for office.
Having said that, it is rather shocking that Democrats are now using his health against him, when they used it to defend him during the election.
Case in point, a report in The New York Times recently cited a former Fetterman aide who had come forward to express concerns about Fetterman’s mental health, believing he is backsliding.
Last year, Adam Jentleson, the former chief of staff, wrote to Fetterman’s doctor, “I’m worried that if John stays on his current trajectory he won’t be with us for much longer.” Jetleson added that “He does not see his doctors,” including his cardiologist, since being released from the hospital.
Wife Turns Against Him
New York Magazine recently released a bombshell report on Fetterman, even citing a report about his wife being at a “breaking point” with her husband.
According to the report, Fetterman’s wife, Gisele, wrote to a staffer, “I am at breaking point and I can’t co-sign this any longer. Id love some help in language to separate myself from this. Can anyone help me?”
Another staffer reportedly overheard Gisele on a speakerphone conversation, stating, “Who did I marry? Where is the man I married?”
When Fetterman went to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Donald Trump, Gisele apparently threw a fit, with the staffer stating, “It was a whole saga. She wasn’t going to go, and they had fights about it.”
Fetterman Outburst
This week, yet another report surfaced about a Fetterman outburst that had staffers concerned when he lost it during a meeting with PA teachers’ union officials, shouting and yelling, "Everybody is mad at me. Why does everyone hate me, what did I ever do?" Those present at the meeting have not responded to requests for comments about Fetterman’s behavior.
While Democrats continue the attacks against Fetterman, former CNN host Chris Cuomo is telling the Democrats to stop eating their own, stating, “Democrats have to stop going after their own, and they have to start seeing what is best for the country that they can provide. And that is being in the business of better. That is being in the business of compromise.
“That is being in the business of getting things done that matter for the most, instead of fighting about what matters to the least, okay? You have been rejected by the American people because you were seen as less in step with normal than [President] Donald John Trump. Remember that.”
This is a dream scenario for Republicans right now, as that seat comes back up for re-election in 2028, and it is hard to imagine the Democrat Party offering Fetterman a lot of support if he decides to run again. This is clearly a seat that can be flipped, so I say let the Dems continue to go after him, and have the GOP sit on its hands while the party self-destructs.
