Musk makes shocking admission about Trump policies

Even though Musk and Trump were playing nice for the cameras last week, I still believe Musk is upset for being used like a prop with DOGE.

To that point, Musk is suddenly criticizing the administration and creating some distance between himself and Donald Trump.

Not taking responsibility

There was a time when Musk stood tall next to Trump offering blanket support, but those days are now well behind us, and I am not surprised one bit.

I have stated all along that there would be a break between these two, and I think it will get ugly. While it is not quite there yet, there is a little something brewing.

As an example, now that Musk is out of the administration, he is being a bit more open about some policies, even distancing himself from Trump.

He recently stated, “So then, I’m a little stuck in a bind, where I’m like, ‘Well, I don’t want to, you know, speak up against the administration, but I also don’t want to take responsibility for everything this administration’s doing.’”

He’s out

I thought it was very telling this weekend when Trump announced that a Musk insider who had been nominated to lead NASA had his nomination pulled by Trump.

Trump announced, “After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA. I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space.”

The natural question here is why that review did not take place before the nomination.

That, to me, was a bit of a rebuke, but Isaacman handled the news with grace, thanking Trump for being considered and saying he was grateful to all those who "supported" him.

Don’t always agree

Musk opened up even more about some policies, but he also admitted that he is reluctant to speak publicly because he knows how it will be interpreted.

To that point, he stated, “It’s not like I agree with everything the administration does. So it’s like, I mean, I agree with much of what the administration does. But we have differences of opinion.

“There are things that I don’t entirely agree with. But it’s difficult for me to bring that up in an interview because then it creates a bone of contention.”

The fact that Musk even made us aware that he and Trump are not always on the same page says something to me. Musk is playing nice, at least for now, but every time one of these reports surfaces, I would bet anything it gets under Trump’s skin. I believe it is only a matter of time before Trump lashes out, at which point we will find out what Musk really thinks about him.
