Musk fires back at Bannon after suggestion he is not in country legally

As we noted in other reports, the big blowout between Musk and Trump hogged all the headlines this week.  

Now MAGA is officially turning on Musk, and Trump loyalist Steve Bannon is leading the charge.  

It’s Over 

When Musk and Trump first started their partnership, I had stated that I did not expect the relationship to last more than six months, and they only made it five.  

Musk has hinted that he would try to speak to Trump to fix things, but after Musk alleged that Trump was in the Epstein files, many viewed that as going too far.  

When Trump was asked if he was interested in mending the fence with Musk, he stated, “No,” then added, "I think it's a very bad thing, because he's very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the president.” 

I just think it is rather amusing because Trump is arguably one of the most disrespectful people on the planet, as he will insult anyone who is not on the same page as he is, yet he is blasting Musk for daring to insult him. I equate the whole fight to two petulant children used to getting their way.  

Bannon Suggests Musk as an Illegal Immigrant 

Steve Bannon recently discussed the breakup, which he seems very happy about, but he also made some rather insane suggestions.  

Bannon stated, “The action that President Trump should be taking immediately, I think, is when [Musk] threatens to take one of the big programs out of Space X, President Trump tonight should sign an executive order calling for the Defense Production Act to be called in on SpaceX and seize SpaceX tonight, before midnight.” 

Then he really went off the reservation, stating, “They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status, because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately.” 

Think really hard about what he is suggesting and how this could impact other big donors coming to the GOP. For Musk having a falling out with Trump, Bannon wants him to take his business and kick him out of the country.  

Musk Strikes Back 

After Musk saw Bannon’s suggestion, he responded on X, “Bannon advocates crime, because he is a criminal.” 

Musk is right in terms of Bannon being a criminal, as he was saved by Trump in yet another fraud case of close Trump allies.  

Bannon was on the hook for wire fraud charges, among others, for allegedly stealing from a fund that was collecting donations to finish the wall after Trump left office.  

If Musk decides to dig in, this fight will get extremely ugly, but he now seems content to let this fizzle out and just go on with this life. While I am not surprised at all that Trump and Musk have parted ways, I am a bit shocked at how hard everyone is going after him when you consider the devastating impact the loss of his financial support will be to Republicans in the mid-term elections.
