US begins evacuating staff and family members from Iraq embassy

Tensions are rising in the Middle East in the midst of the Trump trying to get a nuclear deal in place with Iran.

It has now gotten to the point that officials are worried about a possible attack, so some members of the US Embassy in Iraq and their family members are being evacuated.

The Threat

On Wednesday, things started to make a turn for the worst, with Iran threatening attacks at US bases in the Middle East.

Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh confirmed his country will go after US bases if the United States or its allies attack Iran’s nuclear sites.

He stated, “Some officials on the other side threaten conflict if negotiations don’t come to fruition.

“All [U.S.] bases are within our reach, we have access to them, and without hesitation we will target all of them in the host countries.”

The Order

With Israel dying to take action against Iran, the order was given to start evacuating our embassy in Iraq, as well as family members and family members throughout the Middle East.

The Times of Israel reported, “In addition, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations across the Middle East, a US official said.

“Another US official said that it was mostly relevant to family members located in Bahrain — where the bulk of them are based.”

This, to me, tells me they believe an attack is imminent, as Iran has balked at Trump’s offers and Israel is starting to run out of patience because it knows that every passing day brings Iran one day closer to being able to have a functional nuclear weapon.

Prefer to Avoid Conflict

Trump has always prided himself in not getting the United States involved in a new conflict on his watch, but that run of luck may have just run out, and he knows it.

Trump has told Israel that he wants to handle this diplomatically, but he added that he realizes that if a deal is not done soon, he will lead the strikes himself.

On the matter, Trump stated, "We remain committed to a Diplomatic Resolution to the Iran Nuclear Issue! My entire Administration has been directed to negotiate with Iran. They could be a Great Country, but they first must completely give up hopes of obtaining a Nuclear Weapon.”

Democrats are already loaded for bear against the GOP and Trump for 2026 and 2028, but most of it is a made up narrative. Getting us back into a conflict in the Middle East, however, is a whole new deal, not to mention the fact it would obliterate the national debt even more. I really hope Trump can get this done, as the trickle-down effect of failing will be devastating.
