Immigrants abandoning Democrat Party

Democrats have a huge problem on their hands that does not appear to be going away anytime soon.  

They have already lost ground with Latino voters and black voters, but now they are losing the immigration vote as well.  

Big Strides with Black Voters 

There was a time when Democrats would win about 90% of the black vote right across the board, but Donald Trump started to change that when he ran for office, particularly with young black men.  

In the 2020 election, the warning signs started to show up when Trump won 18% of this demo, but that grew to 21% in the 2024 election.  

In some states, such as Georgia, Trump picked up even more ground, topping his 2020 totals by 5%. 

Make no mistake about it, without the black vote, Dems don’t win, and Trump showed how even improving just a little bit hurts their chances in any major election.  

Big Strides with Latino Voters 

Trump also picked up considerable ground with Latino voters, which just baffled experts.  

Rev. Sam Rodriguez tried to explain why his community was moving over to Trump, stating, in part, “I really do believe that what we experienced at this election was the official breaking up of the Latino community with the Democratic Party. 

“It doesn't have to be a permanent breakup, by the way. It would require a bit of humility on behalf of the Democratic operatives.

"The primary reason I do believe has to do with faith. Latinos are becoming more and more evangelical every single year.” 

The Immigrant Vote 

Recent polling is showing that Trump is now gaining significant ground among the immigrants who have come to this country legally.  

During the 2020 election, immigrants favored the Democrat Party by a 58-24% margin, but there has been a 49-point swing in favor of the GOP from that demographic of voters.  

Daron Shaw, who serves as a member of the Fox News Decision Team, believes the issue here is twofold. Since Dems started out dominating this demo, there was plenty of room for growth for the GOP to capture this vote. The second reason is that these individuals are also hyper-focused on border security, not to mention they came to this country the right way and don’t like line jumpers.  

You cannot reward people for breaking the law, and that is what Democrats are trying to do while working the empathy angle. Dems are willing to die on this hill, and it just may save the GOP from being its own worst enemy in the next election cycle.
