Major media outlet again touts fake news in report

For most of the last decade, we have time and again seen the mainstream media tout a narrative that simply was not true to make Trump look bad.

Well, it just happened again, and this one is a doozie.

Example 1

I am not going to go back to the origins of this, as there are plenty of examples of the media not doing its job from the time Trump announced his first candidacy right through the media ignoring Joe Biden’s mental decline.

Since Trump has been in office, there have already been dozens of incidents of the media either twisting a narrative or flat-out fake news.

The first would be portraying Kilmar Abrego Garcia as a “Maryland man,” when he was actually an illegal immigrant with a protection order, which was reportedly granted because he told authorities that if he was sent back home, the gangs would kill him.

As one example, a New York Times headline read, “U.S. Renews Opposition to Bringing Back Maryland Man Wrongly Deported to El Salvador.”

Example #2

In April, it was reported by the mainstream media that the Trump administration had deported several American children, leaving out a key detail.

In reality, the parents of the children were deported, and the parents had the option to take their children with them, who were American citizens, or they could leave them here in the country with an authorized guardian. The parents chose to take their children with them.

DHS responded to the reports, stating, “Once again, the media is shamefully peddling a false narrative in an attempt to demonize our ICE enforcement agents, who are already facing a 300% surge in assaults again them. The media and Democrat politicians are force-feeding the public false information that US citizen children are being deported.

“This is false and irresponsible. In both of these cases the mothers had a final order of deportation. Rather than separate their families, ICE asked the mothers if they wanted to be removed with their children or if they wanted ICE to place the children with someone safe the parent designates. Both mothers choose to deport with their children.”

Example #3

The latest story is that ICE targeted a pregnant woman for deportation, but again, not the actual case, as the agency was going after her husband, who is here illegally.

A local news channel, KTLA5, interviewed Sabrina Medina, who told them, “I was just terrified. I was shaking. I was scared. I’ve never gone through anything like this.” It was an interview conducted solely to create outrage against the administration and its immigration agenda.

Fox News later corrected the reported, stating that ICE “wasn’t targeting a ‘pregnant mother’, it was targeting her previously deported illegal alien Mexican husband who had been convicted of drug trafficking in February & had an attempted murder charge pleaded down to an assault conviction.” the reporter added, “ICE had a criminal judicial warrant for his arrest, signed off on by a federal judge.”

It is the responsibility of the media to tell the whole story to the American people, and if they don’t have all the details or have not fully vetted the story, that should be made clear at the outset so as not to create confusion or outrage over the issue. Today, the media is more interested in being first than right, and the result is either fake news or a twisted narrative, as was the case here. And that is exactly why many Americans no longer trust the mainstream media as the primary source of their news.
