Senator Padilla already fundraising over press conference incident

Last week, Senator Padilla (D-CA) was forcibly removed from a DHS press conference when he appeared to rush the podium while asking a question.

When the story first broke, I called it a PR stunt, and Padilla just proved me right.

Rushing the Podium

If Padilla truly wanted to ask questions of Noem regarding the recent ICE raids in California that sparked protests, he should have done at least two things before attending.

First and foremost, he should have reached out to Noem and her detail to let them know he would be attending and would approach the podium for questions.

Second, he should have been wearing his pin that identifies him as a member of the United States Senate.

He did neither, dressing casually, and in my opinion, he did so hoping he would be confronted by security and tossed out of the room, which is exactly what happened.

On Defense

After the incident, Dems were outraged, to the point they started demanding Noem’s resignation as well as an investigation into what happened.

The White House was immediately forced to go on defense, responding, “Padilla stormed a press conference, without wearing his Senate pin or previously identifying himself to security, yelled, and lunged toward Secretary Noem. Padilla didn’t want answers; he wanted attention.

“Padilla embarrassed himself and his constituents with this immature, theater-kid stunt — but it’s telling that Democrats are more riled up about Padilla than they are about the violent riots and assaults on law enforcement in LA.”

While the initial part of the confrontation was not caught on video, at least not that I have seen yet, it does appear that Padilla made a move toward the podium, at which point security stepped in. People need to realize that whatever he said after that point means nothing, as the agents are only focused on their mission from that moment forward, which is to remove the possible threat.

Now We Know

In a previous report, I had stated I believed this was a stunt, and Padilla and the Democrat Party just proved me right.

On Friday, reports broke that Padilla and Democrats were already using the incident in a fundraising push. Within 24 hours of the incident, a fundraising email was sent out, stating, "Trump and ICE are terrorizing immigrant communities. Targeting schools and workplaces. Deporting people with no due process."

The DNC also got in on the hustle, writing, "This is not only an attack on a sitting senator — it’s an attack on freedom of speech and expression in our country.”

I will now take this a step further and say that I believe this entire incident was coordinated by the Democrat Party, knowing exactly how Noem’s security detail would react to a possible threat in the room. It was a trap, and it worked out perfectly for Democrats.
