Former NFL star points finger at Walz after local politicians murdered
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been at the forefront of the nasty rhetoric being aimed at ICE and the Trump administration over this immigration push.
After a local politician and her husband were murdered, a former NFL star in Minnesota is calling out the governor and pointing the finger at him.
Modern-day Gestapo
Democrats are the kings of fanning the flames of discontent, then stepping away and asking, “Who, me?” when something awful happens.
As an example, Walz recently gave a commencement speech, where he referred to ICE agents as Donald Trump’s “modern-day Gestapo,” which, of course, were in play during the Nazi regime, the Dems favorite reference.
During his remarks, he got everyone fired up, claiming, “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets.”
These agents are doing nothing more than their job, but Dems have chosen to ignore our immigration laws and liken Trump to Hitler for enforcing them.
Walz did not stop there, either, later adding, "This is what the crumbling of the rule of law looks like in real time. And it's exactly what the founders of this nation feared − a tyrant abusing power to persecute scapegoats and enemies."
Assassinated
It is hard to look at the death of state Rep. Hortman and her husband as anything other than an assassination.
Prior to her murder, Rep. Hortman had flipped and voted with Republicans on a key immigration-related bill in the House legislature, so this attack clearly seemed as though it was politically motivated.
Now, the alleged shooter’s background is all over the place, so we have no idea if he was after her for simply being a Democrat (there were other Dems on his hit list), or because she had flipped on her vote.
I will say this, however, and that is that authorities reportedly found “No Kings” protest signs in his car, and he was appointed to a board by Governor Walz. But his motives are purely speculative at this point, so I don’t want to start any false theories.
Jackie Brewer Speaks Out
Regardless of the shooter’s political affiliations, I have little doubt that the rhetoric being spewed has contributed to people snapping, thinking the only way to stop the madness is by taking out politicians.
Brewer commented, “We need to start calling this what it is. These people have lost their minds. I am heartbroken to see one of the most amazing states in America completely turned around under Gov. Tim Walz. Minnesota is confused.
“I played for the Vikings. I played for the Gophers. I lived in Minnesota for years. It was not like this. People were respectful. People could disagree and still have conversations. I still have a lot of family there, and it hurts to see what they’re living through.”
Respect is gone, as politics today are all about sensationalism and making outlandish claims about your opponents to get your followers to despise them. As I stated above, I don’t care what the shooter’s affiliation was; there is no way you can convince me that the rhetoric being spewed did not lead to him snapping and walking down this route.
