Dems won’t back resolution to condemn LA ICE riots
The hypocrisy of the left would be comical if it were not so detrimental to his country as a whole.
Case in point, while Dems raged against the January 6 riots, they are once again failing to decry the behavior of their liberal horde when it comes to the rioting and damage caused by anti-ICE riots.
Protests Spread Across the Country
If Democrats had not gotten everyone so whipped up over ICE deportations, it would likely have been business as usual in this country.
Instead, they not only got the liberal horde riled up over ICE agents doing their jobs by seeking out those who illegally entered the country, but they also refused to admit the protests had evolved into rioting.
And when there is no accountability, nefarious actors are emboldened, and that is what we saw in June with ICE riots.
While the visuals in LA were horrific, Dems were pushing back against the National Guard being called in, and surprise, with no repercussions, the rioting spread around the country.
These Are Peaceful Protests
Not only did Democrats deny the protests were turning violent, but they then tried to blame the Trump administration for the violence they actually did acknowledge.
For instance, Senator Padilla (D-CA) stated, "The vast majority of protesters and demonstrators are peaceful. They're passionate." Oh, setting cars on fire and looting businesses is passion... that is good to know.
Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) added, "A lot of these peaceful protests are being generated because the president of the United States is sowing chaos.” Oh, right... Bad Orange Man Syndrome.
All Trump was doing was enforcing immigration laws that had been blatantly ignored for the last four years. Dems simply refuse to admit that breaking an immigration law is actually breaking a law.
Won’t Support the Vote
Resolutions are nothing more than statement legislation, and I usually think they are a waste of time. However, at times, they serve a purpose to let the American people know who is really on their side.
In this case, it should have been a no-brainer to decry the riots in LA and around the country, but Democrats refused to sign on.
When the resolution was floored in the House, a whopping total of seven Democrats supported it, with the rest apparently believing that setting property on fire, looting businesses, and attacking police is the proper way to respond to officers enforcing the law.
Democrats continue to hold the line that deploying forces to stop the riots only made the rioting worse, as if we are to simply sit back and allow them to run out of energy on their own. I don't even have words to describe that mindset, at least not ones that I can put into writing on these pages.
