Lara Trump gets endorsement from president to run for Senate

Lara Trump has been toying with the idea of running for office for quite some time.

She has teased a Senate run before, and she did get her feet wet as the co-chair of the RNC.

Now, however, things are getting serious, as there is a seat available in North Carolina and Donald Trump would like to see her in it.

I’m Out

Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) went to war with Trump over the BBB, and has since decided that he does not want to spend another six years swimming upstream.

After Trump threatened to primary Tillis, he announced he would not be running for re-election.

He stated, “As many of my colleagues have noticed over the last year, and at times even joked about, I haven’t exactly been excited about running for another term.

“That is true since the choice is between spending another six years navigating the political theatre and partisan gridlock in Washington or spending that time with the love of my life Susan, our two children, three beautiful grandchildren, and the rest of our extended family back home. It’s not a hard choice, and I will not be seeking re-election.”

The Tease

Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, has been flirting with the idea of a Senate run, and she is doing it again.

She stated, "A lot of people probably remember I've considered kind of running for or filling a Senate seat, now, this would be the third time.

“The first time was actually during the midterms in '22. Ted Budd ultimately ran for the GOP and won that Senate seat there in North Carolina. And then obviously Marco Rubio in Florida, vacating his Senate seat to become our incredible secretary of state.

“The timing of both of those didn't really work out for me and to be fully transparent, I would love to do it."

She Has My Backing

I believe Lara Trump would have run in Florida had Trump and DeSantis not been feuding at the time, but there was no way DeSantis was going to endorse her for the position at the time.

Trump would love to see her run for that seat, stating, “Somebody that would really be great is Lara, she grew up there.”

The problem is that she lives in Florida now and would have to relocate in North Carolina, at least for show, to hold that seat, and Trump knows it, stating, “But they live in Florida, they have a very good life and they’re great people. She did fantastically running the RNC. She’s even got a show that’s, it’s like the number one show.”

She definitely has the roots and the connections, and she would probably be the frontrunner if she tossed her hat in the ring, and likely win the seat. Opportunity only knocks so many times, and if she does not answer the door this time, I am not sure she will get another chance. I would actually like to see her give this a go, as I think she did a good job when she was with the RNC. It was a very small sample, but I say we give her shot.
