REPORT: Hamas accepting Trump's terms for cease fire with Israel

The war between Hamas and Israel has now been going on for about 18 months, having started on October 7, 2023.

Since taking office, Donald Trump has tried numerous times to broker peace between Hamas and Israel, and he may have finally broken through.

According to reports, Hamas has accepted the framework of a deal brokered by the United States and President Trump.

The War

On that fateful day in October 2023, Hamas crossed the border and savagely massacred more than 1,000 people.

Elderly, toddlers, and women were among those murdered. Women were raped and their dead bodies paraded around the city like some barbaric hunting trophy. It was a horrific sight, as people were enjoying a music festival one minute, and only hours later, the area was littered with more than 1,000 corpses.

Hamas also took prisoners, some of whom were tortured and killed.

Israel responded with a massive attack against Gaza, and while there has been progress in peace talks, the war continues.

Israel Okays Deal

Early last week, Trump came out to say that the United States has presented a framework for a peace deal to Israel, and it has been accepted.

Trump stated, "I hope... that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better - IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.”

Trump added that he would continue to work with all parties to get this deal done.

Hamas had not accepted the deal to that point, with a Palestinian official stating, "The core issues remain unresolved.”

Hamas Gets on Board

On Friday, reports started to break that Hamas was willing to accept the framework of the deal, finally giving hope that this war would be ending soon.

The deal is a 60-day ceasefire that would include a final exchange of all remaining hostages, dead or alive, as well as the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. The hope is that during this ceasefire period, a permanent deal can be brokered to end this war.

Ending this war would be a huge feather in Trump’s cap, and something that will cement his legacy for his achievements in the Middle East, which are pretty much unparalleled from any modern-day presidency.

The amount of money the United States spends in the Middle East is staggering, and if there is one line item that helps reduce our national debt, it would be reducing the amount of military aid we are spending in the Middle East.
