Susie Wiles: Trump-Musk ending was ‘troublesome’

Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, prefers to be behind the scenes.

However, she just did her first major interview that I can recall, shedding light on all kinds of topics.

One that I found interesting was her take on the Musk-Trump feud.

The Ugly Breakup

This all got started over the big, beautiful bill (BBB).

Musk thought the legislation had too much fat in it, and he started to swing for the fences, going after everyone who supported the bill.

My thought was that Musk was furious and saw himself as being used as a prop with DOGE, nothing more than a publicity stunt, because his cuts were not featured in the BBB.

Trump and Musk then had a public feud, and that was all she wrote.

The Olive Branch

Musk and Trump seemed to bury the beef for a bit, with Musk more or less apologizing and Trump toning it down as well.

Since then, Musk has started it back up, even going so far as to announce that he would be starting a new party to rival the GOP.

Musk wants to focus on just a few key seats rather than going for it all, figuring if he can get two seats in the Senate and six to eight seats in the House, his party will have all the leverage it needs when it comes time to pass legislation.

Now, there are quite a few people in the party worried about how that party will impact future elections, and possibly cost the GOP seats.

Troublesome

Wiles recently offered her two cents on the breakup, stating, "It seemed almost as if he had a sort of fatherly fixation with Donald Trump that I guess inevitably was going to blow up at some point. How did you see that relationship?

"Similar, the president was very, very kind to him. And Elon had so much to offer us. He knew things we didn’t know, he knew people and technologies that we didn’t know. It was a great thing when it was a great thing, and then it had a very troublesome ending.”

I believe the party has not yet begun to realize how big of an issue this will be for them in terms of splitting the vote in some states, and maybe that is all that Musk wants to do.

I love some of his ideas, but are there really enough votes to go around without handing the Dems easy battleground victories? But again, if that happens, Musk can sit there and tell Trump, “I told you so,” and perhaps that is all his hubris requires to be satisfied.
