Pelosi flips on Epstein files

Up until a few days ago, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had no interest in revealing the Epstein files.

After Attorney General Pam Bondi announced there was no client list, MAGA went nuts.

That was about all it took for Pelosi to change her mind.

Not Interested

Pelosi was on MSNBC when she commented on the files, stating, “This is a distraction. We have major issues right here with things we’re voting on today in the Congress.

“And instead we’re talking about him – about this thing, and his own base has its own views of what the president should do. I’ll leave it up to them to talk it out.”

Now, relatively speaking, I agree with that statement.

Don’t get me wrong… I would love to see who was hanging out with Epstein to see their careers blown up, but we do have far more serious issues to be concerned about.

The Outrage

The problem, of course, is that MAGA was promised these files, and the Trump campaign, and this would include Dan Bongino, had been building up MAGA on these files for years.

When Bondi and Kash Patel made their announcement, MAGA went nuts, insinuating that they had gone full swamp, putting the blame mostly on Bondi, and I am sure that decision to bury the files was way above her pay grade.

Democrats, of course, loved seeing this because it meant that they had an attack to go after Trump, even after having remained silent on these files for years.

Suddenly, Democrats were sounding like the GOP on this issue, and Pelosi pounced.

Change of Course

Literally, within hours of appearing on MSNBC, Pelosi changed her tune.

She posted to X, “For reasons known only to him, Donald Trump is now refusing to appoint a special prosecutor in the Epstein case after weeks of refusing to release the Epstein files.

“This week, House Democrats voted unanimously to release the files. Republicans voted to keep them hidden. With deep respect for the victims, their trauma and their privacy, everyone on the Epstein list must be held accountable no matter who they are. Release the files.”

Trump has since announced that he wanted Bondi to release the Grand Jury files, but even that will be restricted to “relevant” files. Trump has to get out from under this, and the only way he will do that is to release the files in full and allow the American people to decide what is fact and what is fiction. It is just a shame that all the good he has done to this point is being overshadowed by Jeffrey Epstein, but the GOP has only itself to blame for this.
