Trump-backed congressman in salacious scandal
First, it was Jeffrey Epstein, and now it is Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL).
Donald Trump backed Cory Mills in his first run for office, and he has continued to support him, but that may change soon.
Mills is now embroiled in a messy and very salacious scandal that could end his political career.
Backing Mills
Mills is an Army Veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne, where he earned a Bronze Star for his service to this country.
When Mills first ran for office, he was clearly MAGA, and Trump backed him right away.
Trump, in endorsing Mills, stated, “Cory has long been a great fighter for our Country, and he is a decorated U.S. Army combat Veteran who has fought bravely all over the World. He has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and has even traveled to Ukraine recently to provide information for USAID and State Department officials.
“When everyone else is running away from the tough fights, Cory Mills is willing to stay back and fight. He loves our Country, loves the Great State of Florida, and he will never let us down. Cory Mills has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”
Mills Wins Again
Mills won that election, and he won again in 2024, quickly becoming a loyal member of Trump’s insider camp in Congress.
He won his re-election campaign rather easily, defeating Democrat Jennifer Adams by a whopping 13%.
At his age and with his popularity, Mills was destined to be in the House for a long time, possibly having his eyes on higher office.
Then came the scandal.
The Scandal
Lindsey Langston, Miss United States, dropped a bombshell on Mills this week that is likely to end his career.
Langston claims that Mills has been harassing her after their breakup, threatening to expose videos he took of himself with Langston having sex. The report stated, “Since February 20th of 2025, Cory has contacted Lindsey numerous times on numerous different accounts threatening to release nude images and videos of her, to include recorded videos of her and Cory engaging in sexual acts.”
It continued, “The threats were made when Cory believed Lindsey to have other romantic partners in her life after the breakup.”
This is not what the GOP needs right now, needless to say, and I would imagine that, considering how hot the Epstein files are, Trump is going to keep Mills at arm’s length on this one. The question is, does Mills ride this out, or does he resign and allow someone else to jump in and run in 2026? This should be an automatic seat, but if he runs, we could lose it, and we are already expecting 2026 to be difficult. This is just a nightmare for Trump, Mills, and the GOP as a whole.
