Trump administration demands Letitia James’s resignation
Things are starting to heat up for New York Attorney General Letitia James.
James, as I am sure you know, has been accused of mortgage fraud.
Now, the Trump administration is demanding her resignation, as well as making a move that had James livid.
The allegations
If you missed the news cycle, William Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), believes that James was playing games with her personal finances.
According to Pulte, she was claiming two different homes as her primary residence.
And yes, this is the same mortgage fraud that Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is being accused of by the administration.
Falsifying the documents enabled her, allegedly, to take advantage of tax breaks as well as better financing rates.
Time to go
Ed Martin, the director of the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group, has put in on the table for James that, for the “good of the state and nation,” she should step down and resign.
He stated, “Her resignation from office would give the people of New York and America more peace than proceeding.
“I would take this as an act of good faith.”
I will go out on a limb and predict that James will not take his advice, but Martin was not done with her just yet.
Doxing
For all intents and purposes, Martin doxed James by publishing a picture of himself standing in front of James’ New York home.
Her attorney, Abbe Lowell, the same attorney who defended Hunter Biden, responded, "This orchestrated photo opportunity for your go-to media outlet, during an investigation, with the intent and/or result to prejudice Ms. James is outside the bounds of DOJ and ethics rules.”
I never supported doxing of Republicans, and I won’t get behind this because I think it is a silly stunt that could put the entire case in jeopardy. From what I have seen, they have a solid case, so why do something so juvenile simply to get clicks and likes on social media?
Now, if some lunatic harms James, guess who gets the blame for doxing her home address? This is what we destroyed Democrats over when they went after our justices and several Republican members of Congress, so I refuse to be a hypocrite and applaud the move simply because someone in the Trump administration did it. Grow up, already, and conduct business rather than feeding into the social media nonsense.
