Obama says California gerrymandering is fair

When you talk about hypocrisy regarding gerrymandering, look no further than Eric Holder and Barack Obama.

Holder was Obama’s Attorney General and professed “wing-man” during his administration.

Now, both are chiming in about Texas gerrymandering.

Holder’s Project

After leaving office, Eric Holder started a project to start to fight back against gerrymandering, but all it was was an organized effort of Democrat gerrymandering.

Holder started to encourage Democrats to redraw their maps to give Democrats an edge in elections.

Holder stated, "I expect later this year you will see [Obama] campaigning with a focus on the races that will matter for redistricting.

"He has identified this as his chief political activity post-presidency."

Love It

After Texas made its move, Holder, of course, had a little something to say.

He stated, “It is for this reason that we do not oppose — on a temporary basis — responsible responsive actions to ensure that the foundations of our democracy are not permanently eroded.

“Once this time has passed, measures at the federal and state levels must be put in place to outlaw the actions that have precipitated this crisis. Those who for partisan gain would subvert the precepts of our democracy must never be allowed again to threaten that which makes this nation exceptional.”

Mind you, many of the gerrymandering maps on the Democrat side of the aisle were likely consulted by Holder, so he is a part of the problem, not the solution.

It’s Fair

Obama’s support was a complete and utter joke.

The former president stated, “I believe that Gov. Newsom’s approach is a responsible approach.

“We’re only going to do it if and when Texas and/or other Republican states begin to pull these maneuvers. Otherwise, this doesn’t go into effect.”

Reasonable? The state is already gerrymandered and among the worst states in the country. Why is nobody calling out the Democrats for putting us in this position in the first place? And by no means am I giving Republicans a pass, but from the maps I have seen, Democrats have done far worse. They are just being excused because they gerrymandered their maps after the census rather than mid-term.
