Trump upset US was informed ‘too late’ on Qatar strikes

A recent strike by Israel took out several Hamas leaders, which everyone celebrated. There was one problem, however, and that is that the strike took place in Qatar.

Even Trump is upset, claiming he was told far too late about the strike.

Backing up Trump

One of the first interviews I saw on the strike was with Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter.

He stated, “I’m just going to state emphatically that the White House understands our conviction that Hamas is to be destroyed.

“The president just said the other day that they have to release the hostages now and end the war now, otherwise, it’s not going to be good. Well, they saw what not good is this morning.”

The implication, at least to me, was that Israel and the United States were in agreement on the attacks. Maybe I overanalyzed this, but that was my take.

Fulfilling a promise

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke on the matter, and again, I was given the impression that this had all been discussed and approved, which would make sense because of Trump’s relationship with Qatar.

Netanyahu went on to describe the horrifying events of October 7, when the initial attack by Hamas took place.

He then stated, “At the beginning of the war, I promised that Israel would reach those who perpetrated this horror. And today, Israel and I have kept that promise.”

Netanyahu then dropped the bombshell, stating that he acted “wholly independently” and took “full responsibility” for the strike.

Not happy

Trump later broke the news that he was not party to the decision and learned about the attack far too late to do anything about it, although there were reports that he did give them a late heads-up.

Trump stated, “This was a decision made by Prime Minister Netanyahu, it was not a decision made by me.” He had further stated that when they did learn about it, it was “too late to stop the attack.”

Trump continued, “Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a Sovereign Nation and close Ally of the United States, that is working very hard and bravely taking risks with us to broker Peace, does not advance Israel or America’s goals However, eliminating Hamas, who have profited off the misery of those living in Gaza, is a worthy goal.”

This has now escalated tensions between Israel and Qatar, with Qatar threatening retaliation. If that happens, this is a complete and utter nightmare, which will force Trump’s hand in a way he never imagined. Let’s just hope cooler heads prevail.
