Rand Paul may finally have Dr. Fauci over a barrel
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who also happens to be a doctor, has been after Dr. Fauci since the onset of COVID.
Paul never accepted a word that Fauci said, even under oath, especially regarding gain-of-function research.
He referred him once, and he now seems to believe he may have found the smoking gun.
Origins Hearing
In June 2024, hearings were conducted on the origins of the COVID-19 virus.
This was going to be the first time that Republicans really got a free run at Fauci since he had left the Biden administration.
It was reported, “During the hearing, Dr. Paul presented key pieces of evidence supporting the likelihood that COVID-19 originated from a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
“Dr. Paul referenced the recent assessments by the Department of Energy (DOE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which emphasize the risky nature of coronavirus research at the WIV and suggest that the pandemic most likely resulted from a lab leak.”
Second Referral
Paul had referred Fauci for an indictment about two years ago, and he did it again in July, believing the case was now stronger against Fauci.
He stated, “In July 2023, I referred Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice for lying under oath to Congress. His own emails directly contradicted his sworn testimony.
“The New York Times reports Fauci was quietly pardoned by an autopen, operated by Biden’s staff. If the President didn’t authorize this pardon personally, then the Department has a duty to investigate and prosecute as it would any ordinary citizen. Fauci has been sainted by the extremist Left, but it doesn’t erase his lying before Congress.”
Paul was referring to the autopen scandal, with Republicans believing the preemptive pardons issued by Biden are not valid, as he may not have directly approved them.
Delete It
The Freedom of Information Act is a beautiful thing, as the government can no longer keep its secrets from the American people.
To that point, some new Fauci emails have been revealed, and it sure looks like he was trying to cover some things up, and Senator Paul pounced.
He posted to X, “Newly released emails show Fauci directed colleagues to ‘delete this after you read it’ — dating back to Feb. 2020. He denied it under oath. These documents are now public, and Fauci will finally testify before Chairman Rand Paul.”
If they can nullify those pardons, and if this is accurate, Fauci could find himself indicted for having lied before Congress, and it is all there in those emails. That, my friends, is what they call the smoking gun.
