Key Trump staffer resigns

All it took was two key resignations in the same week, and the media is already saying that Trump officials are abandoning ship.

If I am being honest, these two resignations concern me, as they are very prominent roles from administration loyalists.

Coincidence, or are we about to see a mass exodus as many outlets are predicted?

The Trend

Administration officials come and go, but the real issue here is the people and the timing.

For high-profile roles, you usually expect to get about two years out of someone before they head to the private sector to cash in.

This time, however, we have two very key officials leaving after eight months, so there are some real flags here.

The White House has been spinning both of these, but I am just not so sure I believe them.

Chad Mizelle

Unless you are neck deep into the political world, that name may not mean much to you.

For those of us who swim in this stuff every day, Mizelle was a major player for Bondi, serving as the Chief of Staff for the DOJ.

What has me worried is the excuse given, which was that Mizelle wanted to spend more time with his family, which is generally the excuse for those officials who bail.

When I initially reported his departure, I expressed my concerns, and then I warned that we should not be surprised if more people left soon.

Taylor Budowich

Budowich served as the White House deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel, and he is a longtime Trump loyalist.

I have already seen the spin that this was a planned departure, as well as other White House staffers being very complimentary to him on the way out the door. Stephen Miller, JD Vance, and just about every other high-profile White House employee had nothing but nice things to say about him.

For instance, Miller stated, “He is universally admired and respected. No matter the issue or need, his insights and talents are sought after and valued deeply. He is and remains a cherished and loyal ally to us all."

The media, however, has not been so kind about it, already painting the picture of a sinking ship that will be underwater in no time at all. I am not saying we are that point just yet, but yes, this now concerns me.
